As someone who has been in both SW and WW, I agree that the marketing of the bars, books etc in SW is much less than in WW, which to me is much more profit driven.

No, it wouldn't put me off. My house is 100 years old, I'm sure there's been a fair amount of death and mental illness in it....I just wasn't aware of it. If you weren't aware, would you still move there?

I was going to post something about this last night....I went to WW and put on half a pound (day one of period). OK not the end of the world as I know it's just a minor fluctuation and is probably just fluid retention but it's disheartening.

I put on 1/2 lb.....in my defence I started my period this morning, so I'm hoping it's fluid retention.

You lost 3.5lbs off your fist......respect! PS I know it's a typo....it just amused me!

I had my first weigh in tonight...and lost 5lbs! I'm chuffed!

My cat is very trim (despite eating like a little piggy...he loves his food!) My neighbour's cat is a little porker though and his owner says he eats and eats and eats....she had to get him a collar reading 'do not feed' as he kept going to the neighbours looking for more food!

My husband's on them, and hasn't reported any side effects, except for getting his cholesterol down! His cholesterol is now down to normal levels, but the GP wants to keep him on him cos he's overweight. I'd prefer him to lose weight and keep his cholesterol low that way, but he likes his beer...

Good luck...here's hoping it's just a cyst or something. Fingers crossed. The NHS is very hot on this kind of thing, they'll see you as soon as possible.

yeah, I didn't want to get back to my old weight. My sister in law lost several stones before she got married, then got pregnant straight away and put it all back on and some. My niece is now 2 and she's still not managed to shift it. I didn't want that to happen to me.

I think it's a brilliant idea-some PCTs do slimming classes on prescription too. Far, far better than handing out Orlistat or referring you for surgery IMO (no disrespect to those using these methods, I just hold the opinion that most weight problems are lifestyle rather than medical problems...

I do like Zumba, but find it really depends on the instructor.....some are more motivating than others.

I must admit to being bores dtupid in the gym on the machines and weights, and only really enjoy the classes. Step aerobics is my favourite class, but I also do aqua aerobics, Zumba, body conditioning, and sometimes spinning, (tbh I don't really enjoy that, prefer cycling outside when it's warm...

My favourite holiday place was here in the UK...St Ives in Cornwall. Love love love the place! If you get the weather, you can't beat it. I also like going to Ireland-Dingle in Kerry is my favourite part of Ireland. Abroad, I love Mallorca.

I lost 4.5 stones a few years back via WW, and was delighted with myself. I went from 17 stone to 12 1/2. This past year or so has been tough, I was diagnosed with depression last year, then earlier this year my Mum lost her battle with cancer. :cry:The result....I've put 2 stones back on.:sigh...
