just joined today and i weigh........

Hi jarael, I am the same height and I weigh 180lbs, what is your target weight? Mine is 126lbs (9 stones) :) we are all here to help each other on the forum, everyone I have spoken to so far has been really friendly. I'm hoping to purchase an exercise bike in a few weeks' time, and I'm...

    EnglishHeart - Weekly Weigh-In

No specific one, but I am calorie-counting (trying to stick to about 1,400 per day) and making an effort to do more exercise :)

    EnglishHeart - Weekly Weigh-In

At my absolute heaviest I weighed 193lbs (13st 11lbs), and my weight has fluctuated a little bit since then as I've fallen off and back on the wagon. My eventual target is 126lbs (9 stones), which will give me a BMI of 22. I am dedicated to losing weight this time around (Am I a WeMitt? :p), so...

    I don't have enough willpower :(

Hello again, I have been doing some exercising (5-minute run twice a day, jacknives, yoga and muscle work-outs) and I've lost 2lbs in 5 days :D baby steps, etc

I haven't heard of that book, what is it called? I might check it out :)

    I don't have enough willpower :(

Thankyou everyone :) small goals it is...I figure that a pound off is better than a pound on, so I'm going to stick at it this time! I might have to over-use the "Food Dump" thread while I'm at it though :p I hope to be down to 172lbs by mid-September, I think that's a reasonable enough target :o

    I don't have enough willpower :(

I just don't seem to have the willpower to diet seriously :( I live on 1,200 calories a day for a few weeks and then find I have only lost a pound or so, and get upset & order a greasy takeaway or something like that, putting me back to square 1. I am starting to feel like it is all a waste of...

MAC Cosmetics - worth the money?

From what I have heard, MAC cosmetics are wonderful, and I'd love to buy myself a few. The problem is the price tag :o are they worth the money?

    Had my legs waxed...

You're not a wuss, it is painful...I've only ever waxed my legs myself, and it took me about 20 mins because I kept leaving ages between each rip for the pain to subside. I stick with shaving now, or Veet.

    VLCD menu based diet

I am trying to lose weight by calorie-counting... I don't think it's the same as VLCD (doesn't that involve liquid meal replacements etc?) but it lets me keep track of myself and not binge. Unfortunately, today has been a bad day :(. I got up at 6am, my exam went badly, I've consumed about 740...

    Dress Size?

12 is a great size. It seems like an eternity since I could fit into 12's, but I liked having the boobs and the hips to fill them out without having an extra 3 stone of lard on my stomach

    Dress Size?

I'm going for a 10 but I wouldn't be unhappy with a size 12, at that size my BMI would be normal and I wouldn't consider myself overweight anymore. Then again, I'm 5ft 3" :o. (Reasonable) curves are best!! :D Edit: Apparently, the ideal weight for my height is around 112-119lbs. That's 8 1/2...

    Dress Size?

What dress size are you at current, and what are you aiming for when you reach your target weight?? Me, I'm a Uk 16 top / 18 bottom and hoping to get down to a 10  :D I read that you need to lose around 12lbs to drop a dress size, is this true? Amy x

    More women?

From what I can see, there seems to be a lot more women here than men. Is it something in our hormones ?? :p

    Losing weight off your hands?

Size-wise, I have embarrassingly tiny hands, but they are podgy and stubby nonetheless :(....think Elton John.

    Nervous Newbie

Thanks everyone, for welcoming me :) Yesterday I went to the supermarket and stocked up on Knorr soups - they taste great and they're only 30 cals per packet, so I am having those for breakfast and supper. Other than that....exchanging white bread for wholemeal, cutting down on dairy, quitting...

Whats Your Drive To Lose Weight?

I've never been in Evans, but most of the shops on my local high street only had zip-up boots and of course, they came nowhere near. I was lucky last winter to find some nice pull-on knee boots for £25, but I doubt I will be as lucky this year until I lose some serious podge :p. Atm, I weigh...

Whats Your Drive To Lose Weight?

I’d like to lose weight for many reasons, most of them fairly trivial but they seem important to me at the minute. - So I can walk into a clothes shop and not panic that they might not have my size. Right now I do most of my clothes shopping on my own, because it’s too embarrassing to...

Nothing specific; just eating less junk food, eating smaller portions and doing some exercise. It's hard to resist the cravings though. From your Ticker you seem to be doing really well!

    Nervous Newbie

Hello :o I've just joined this forum and I'm finding it a little hard to navigate, but hopefully I will get used to it soon enough. From what I've read on here, most people seem friendly, and it will be nice to talk to some people who also understand how irritating and demoralising it can be...
