Extra Easy Extra Easy from home - not working....help!

Ok, so my mum goes to slimming world group and she explained everything to me, so as i cant afford to go to group i started doing it on my own. I am a terrible comfort eater so i have had to restrict what i eat, even on slimming world. cheese and bread are my weaknesses, so ive cut them out almost completely. so my first week was good - i lost 7lb! great! however, the second week included a birthday meal at a chinese, 6 (yes 6) krispy kreme filled dougnuts because they were free! valentines at a pizza place and an indian take away cos id had an argument with a family member! so that week i decided not to weigh (ie. book a holiday from group!) so i was very good the next week (this week just gone - my weigh-ins are on a friday morning) and i havent lost any more! is it possible that i put a load on last week and lost the exact same amount this week?! im very dissapointed as i thought i may have lost at least 1lb! so just in case im not doing this right im going to outline what i eat - as i said, im terrible for cheese and bread, so i have COMPLETELY cut out bread and only eat cottage cheese and quark. im also really fussy with the healthy a and b's (i also dont know which is which!) so i have for one of them milk - i have around 3 cups of strong tea with no sugar a day, so i estimate im having about the right amount of milk as its full fat (my husband will only drink full fat and i cant afford to buy my own as it will go off because im using so little). my other one is a tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil which i use for cooking, seeing as i cant stand frylight. so i have also been trying to do a very low syn diet - with a bottle of wine at the end of the week - i know you arent supposed to do this, but im told if im saving my syns up, technically its ok. so i mainly just eat frozen chicken breasts, extra lean (less than 5%) steak mince, potatoes - either mashed or roasted, carrots - mainly roasted, parsnips - mainly roasted, eggs - loads and loads - mainly poached! cottage cheese - occasionally, quark - one tub in 3 weeks, smash to make scone things, herbs, spices, baked beans, refried beans, pastrami, tomatoes - fresh and canned, sweetcorn - canned, lettuice, cucumber, onions, garlic - fresh and garlic salt, bananas - fresh, apples - fresh, sweet potato - used for soup, a tiny bit of diet pepsi, and thats pretty much it! as i said im really fussy with food, and cant really cook (plus this diet is costing soooo much) so im eating a lot of the same. am i doing something really wrong here? i do add a more than normal amount of salt to my veg - but i dont put any in when cooking. was it just due to going nuts with the fatty food for one week? just super worried im going to be stuck at 14st and paying lots of money to do it! help me please!!!

It doesn't need to cost a lot, especially if you work out a seven day menu in advance. How about looking on here or other sites for SW recipes? There are lots of simple recipes out there. Also, I find that the cravendale (or supermarket own brand equivalent) milk lasts ages, so is often less wasteful as you can use it before it all before it goes off.

I wouldn't assume that the milk you have in your tea is the right amount, if you're gonna use your hexa for this then measure out the correct amount into a separate container each day to make sure you don't go over.

It does work if you stick to plan, as you saw in the first week.

Personally I feel if you want to change your way of eating to a particular style so that you can lose weight then do it, but I know we all have celebrations to go to and birthdays and Valentines ( well maybe not Valentines :( ) you have to make the choice do you want to make the effort or don't you want to do it? It's like trying to give up smoking, when I did that I chose not to go to so many places that would have caused me to slip. I know it sounds a bit harsh but it worked. And the same with the partying its up to us all. I'm sure once it starts to come off on a more regular basis you will be able to make the decisions easier. Good luck

Hi!
I tried to do SW at home on my own, my friend gave me her books. There is no meetings within an hour of me. And tbh, even with the books I just couldnt do it. Like you, i was spending a fortune because I didnt really know what i could and couldnt have and was assuming alot.

So i stopped bothering, gained 10lbs and decided that i was going to sign up online. I had a voucher from bella magazine and I paid €55 for 3 months. Its been a week and I feel far more confident in the plan. Is it possible for you to do something like that, or go to meetings for a few weeks until you feel confident?

Now I know whats what, I'm not spending any more than I usually would on groceries. I just changed what I buy and tbh, my husband and kids havent really noticed the difference! I think SW needs alot of planning tho, and its just a matter of a little effort before shopping day.

Best of luck with it, I hope someone more experienced can give you some helpful advice!

Class is only £4.95, your take away/wine etc will cost a lot more than that I would guess.

If you aren't going to go to group - it might be worth waiting til theres a no joining fee voucher on line or in a magazine and just go to one meting to get the books - it'll be a lot easier if you have the stuff - you can get it on ebay but it's about £20 and I only paid my weekly fee on my first meeting and got all the books
