Hi, I'm Catherine and I've decided to start trying slimming world again and hopefully writing here will help keep me on track!

I'm turning 30 in October and life sucks at the moment so I'm hoping dieting gives me something else to focus on and losing some weight will give me a bit more confidence. Managed to save half my tea to take for lunch in the office tomorrow; attempted to make a chilli but forgot I had no onions so ended up with a three-bean (kidney, cannelini and chick pea) and mushroom rice.

Can't get my scales working tonight but need to loose around 7 stone (weigh about 15 stone and only 5ft) so quite a way ahead of me but surely doable! I'm not going to the classes though so will do it from home out of my old books. I tried classes last year and hated the woman who ran it, telling people "oh dear, you put on a pound this week, well... I want you to lose eight pounds this week! That should be easy." Did my head in.

Hi Catherine
Welcome!
Your old consultant didn't sound at all helpful:eek:
Good luck on your Journey, a bit of determination, willpower and planning and you can do it!
You're making a good start:)

Hi, I'm joining SW on the 12th Jan.

I used to be in catering and was really active so kept my weight down, though I've never been slim. I hovered around the 11 stone mark. I then got a job on an oil-rig in the office, so for the last four years I've sat in a chair, 12-14 hours a day for 21 days at a time. The food is crap - nothing healthy or fresh and there's puddings in the fridge 24 hours a day! I have had a weigh in with the medic and I'm shocked to find out I'm 224 lb - 15st 10lb! FFS... I'm horrified! I'm a reasonably healthy eater when home but I'm going to follow the plan to a T.

Anyhoo, I'm home tomorrow and I'm getting a big Tesco order - anything that can be deemed a high syn value will be going in the bin. As I have three weeks home and only two of them with my better half (he works offshore too) we socialise a lot, which means we booze a fair bit. I think that will be the hardest thing to control. Hopefully I'll get a few tips and tricks from you gals. Wish me luck! :D
