All the nutrients that you need are in the 3 shakes a day, i've been ill this week and only managed 2 shakes for 3 days and i've not lost any weight, so I would say its really important you have 3 shakes a day & your water.

Your 3 shakes give you essential nutrients and minerals. If you have less your body will go into starvation mode and conserve as much energy (stored as fat) as it possibly can. The 3 shakes are whats needed to put you into ketosis (where your body burns fat stores as fuel) but not starvation. Starvation can also cause breakdown of some of the connective tissues so if you do lose weight you may end up with sagging skin.

Try to have all your shakes. I have my last shake quite late as the day seems to fly by but I always try and get it in.

Have you tried having half a vanilla pack for coffee midmorning and another midafternoon. Then you could have your other 2 shakes as your meals if that suits.

Oh thats sounds better adding the coffee I will do that later.I have just make the choc one adding loads of lce it tastes much better.I hope to have a big weightloss like you next week.I am doing exercises aswell i hope that helps

Hi skinnybird. Like the others said, you really must have all 3 shakes on this. There's a risk you can go into starvation mode if you don't and you body will not lose any weight. Get all 3 down your neck and the weight will come off. Good luck.

You need to have at least 2lts a day. I have 4 a day now and the weight losses seem really good cos of it. Have a small sports bottle of water filled up and with you all day, keep sipping and keep topping it up, you'll be amazed at how quickly you can get through them.

yes you are or so ive heard, i have a tongue like ive eaten a bloody rat! wait a minute,,,,er i think i could actually eat a rat right now im that hungry lol x x

the bad breath is a side effect of being in ketosis perfectly normal lol

As people have said make sure all the shakes are consumed along with the water its very important

Hi Skinnybird,
welcome and good luck to you. Follow the advice on here and just check your exercise, you are not meant to exercise hard on this diet as this too can put you in starvation mode. You should do toning exercises, there is a lot of info on exercise on here, if you look them up. Best of luck.

Re the water. Yes apparently you can drink too much. Over 4.5lts and you wash away all the nutrients, wee them out and can make your body go into starvation mode .... and we all know what happens then.

I wish I'd known this sooner :( xx

right I think i have been drinking to much water,thanks for letting me no that.Congrat's to you you must have a really strong will power to have done so well.I dont seem to be able to finsh all the shakes otherwise i will vomit really lol. I do leave a bit in each shake will i still lose weight even if i only leave a bit left??The bars r vile i am going to change them next week.why is everthing nice for us so bad lolololol

You shouldn't really leave any if you can help it. Have you tried making them as mousses? I had all mine like that for about the last 4 or 5 weeks I did TFR. Use about 50mls water plonk all the powder in, gently work all the powder into the water then mix like hell! You need to drink the other 200mls of water that you haven't put in it but that doesn't sound like it would be a problem to you.

Thanks for your kind words - I found it really easy I must say - now's the hard part eating again!!

Change your flapjacks by all means but don't write them off completely. Your tastes WILL change, you may well find you acquire a taste for them in few weeks time! xx

I will try that it might be easier for me,How long does the refeed take cause i am doing this 4 an occasion so how long is it before you could have a proper dinner,a week or more????I mean when i have lost my weight.

Officially it's just a week unless you lose 5 or 6 st when they recommend a bit longer but most people tend to do it for a couple of weeks. x
