A little confused about pcos?

About 4 years ago I was rushed into hospital with appendicitis, whilst the surgeons where operating they discovered cysts I was then sent for a scan and was diagnosed with pcos, I was then sent to a specialist a few months later. Funnily enough at the time I was 6 weeks pregnant, I conceived without even trying and can remember the nurse saying something about after you have a baby you no longer have PCOS? Sadly I miscarried, not sure whether it had anything to do with pcos and at the time I didn't ask. I fell pregnant again a couple of months later after only 4 weeks of trying, I gave birth in 2010. Does this mean I no longer have pcos? I've never seen anyone else about it and its never been mentioned since. I don't have too much trouble loosing weight but seem to gain weight rapidly, and I'm wondering if the 2 are related?

I know people who've had a child but still have PCOS and have had difficulties conceiving for the second time. I dont think giving birth is a miracle cure - although I'd be happy to give it a try if I could just get pg in the first place!!!!
I think PCOS is different for all people - I gain weight quite quickly but the PCOS makes it blummin slow to get it off.

Do you have any other PCOS symptoms at all?

From what I understand, your PCOS goes into temporary dormancy when you are pregnant, as pregnancy hormones stop you from ovulating, so you don't have follicles, therefore cysts don't form.

One of my friends has pretty severe PCOS, and she has been pregnant 3 times, and after each pregnancy, she has issues again.

Hopefully you won't have as big an issue, but I think that it varies from person to person.

Pcos is a blooming nightmare I didn't really understand it eithe I am currently reading managing pcos for dummies book and would highly recommmend it

Hi all,

My understanding is the same as above. I have PCOS and experienced no symptoms during my pregnancy with even my hair growth slowing down. As soon as baby was out though, bang and back again!
