Sorry Jim, I'm all about teasing :D I'm with Abz, less is definitely more!

£300 still has an ouch factor, is there any alternative for table decorations? Candles or anything? If not, £300 is still better than £500.

Oo, silk flowers! They'll be lovely! You got them for a great price too, especially the BMs!

well good morning guys.

£300 is the price for not having flowers on the tables at the moment, ha. i may have to rethink... but i have about 15 bloody vases now!! will see. they are making a mock up of my bouquet and my bridesmaid ones so once i see them and get an idea of colour... who knows. either that or i just say sod it and have them do the lot and i miraculously discover an extra couple of hundred quid somewhere... hey. it could happen!!

well i slept badly last night again. it's starting to really irritate me. we were going to go and see star trek on orange wednesday but totally failed to get our message through even though we requested it in several different ways and sod if i'm paying full price when we should be getting buy one get one free when we can't afford to go in the first place!! aargh.

so yeah. watched the biggest loser and had a bath. ha.

Morning,

abz, there must be loads of people who have silk flowers and stuff left over from their weddings, we have a couple from Jamie and Carols wedding. Maybe if everyone got together and searched them out you'd be sorted. "Something Borrowed, Something blue etc..."
 
i couldn't do that jim. i know what i want you see... and i want to keep my bouquet etc... am thinking that once i see mine i may be able to find something for the tables myself... but it would have to match...

am thinking a single lily stem in each vase just in water at the moment, ha. that should knock a couple of hundred quid off :)

No, I can see it in my minds eye abz, provided it's the right type of vase it'll look great, very Japanese and stylish. Minimal chic. Fantastic.
 
the vases i have are thin and square jim. very minimalistic which was the whole idea. still, three liles, bear grass and white gravel sounds a whole lot nicer, but i can cope with a lily :) love lilies :D

i know jim. but i'm really not going to have time to sort out the flowers before i get married on the day and there really is nobody else to do it!! so... i will see in any case. if we can get it down to around £300ish then i'm sure i'll manage somehow :)

probably in bed jim.

i'm really hoping our boss doesn't come in today. he looked so so ill when he finally left yesterday... and he really didn't look fit to drive but had no other way of getting home. i don't want whatever he's got!! and the chap i was coding for got sent home with something fluey yesterday too and i was talking to him in close proximity for a while too. germs germs!! aargh.

still. being off sick would probably help the diet, ha. but thomas doesn't get sick pay so if i get ill i practically have to quarantine myself!!

ugh, not nice abz. Touch wood no one is sick here. Not that they'd dare, I'm tough on sickie's . :D
 
ha. well nobody here takes days off when they are sick. which just means that they give it to everyone else. the amount of days i've worked here when ill because there's nobody to cover or because there's now a stigma attached to being off sick, it's so silly...

but i don't want what they have. so they'd better bloody be off!!

well. i've just been emailing around all the people i owe wedding monies to and asking them when i need to pay them.

turns out i don't have to pay the caterer's until AFTER the wedding. which totally rocks!! ha. most of the others are a couple of week's before. so that's an extra month's saving towards the food costs. and of course we'll hopefully be given money for our wedding. so the panic levels have reduced somewhat. obviously i still want to keep costs down, but the thought of having to arrange my own flowers on my own wedding day, oh god!! so hopefully if they just stick one lily in each vase and we cut down in a couple of other areas we'll be able to keep the costs fairly low...
