I can't say I'm surprised. I was slammed on another thread for saying that Reductil was still subject to testing because it has been available for years but this just goes to show that not everything out there is properly tried, tested and safe
Just reported on it on BBC Breakfast. Although they said it works well for some people, in one trial 5 people committed suicide whilst on the drug, compared with 1 in the control group so they have decided to suspend it. It will still be available as an "unlicensed" drug but most GPs probably wont want to take the risk of prescribing it.

Scary stuff!

At work today there was a memo sent round to the GPs to say that Accomplia has been withdrawn completely now and that no patient's can be commenced on it and all those currently on it should come off.
Wonder if Kitty has seen this?

Im Meellttinngg!! :)
I was prescribed this on the Friday before the news, rang GP on the Friday and she took me straight off it and put me on Reductil instead
