Advice for Vegetarian newbie

    Morning all

    i am considering a change to Slimming World after 10 years of doing Weight Watchers on and off. I find with weightwatchers i yoyo all the time and I'm always hungry.

    I've been having a look at my mums SW books and it looks too good to be true! I don't know why I've never tried it before. I've found a meeting that I think I'm going to go along to. Am I right in saying I would stick to green days as I'm a vegetarian? Can you really lose weight eating pasta and potatoes?! If so then this is going to be the perfect diet for me!

    Hello.... Yes the green plan is the best for vegetarians and I would recommend Slimming World if you find yourself hungry on other diets. Give it a try.... we are all different and sometime our bodies need the change from sticking to the same eating pattern for a long period of time.

    Hello :) I am a vegetarian and I do just green days. I have a food diary thread if you are interested - may give you some ideas :)
    I eat lots of pasta and potatoes and last time I did slimming world I lost four stone so it definitely works :) x

    i think I have had in in my head that carbs are bad but there is proof it works - can't wait to get started.

    My sister is vegetarian & does SW very well, I'm not a big meat eater & will have a mostly green days so yes the plan does work.

    I suggest subbing to peoples diaries who you can tell are vegetarian and just have a nosey round here you'll find lots of helpful info :D

    Yes absolutely. I'm veggie and green days are perfect as all the foods we should eat as part of a healthy balanced diet can be had freely without any weighing or measuring. Don;t forget to have your superfree veggies and fruit though :)

    I'm vegetarian and do extra easy and that seems to be working for me (I also have coeliacs and they do say EE is better for coeliacs)

    I'm veggie and have been following SW for about 4 years - I think lol. In it for the long haul :) I find it suits me absolutely perfectly! I lose weight quite slowly, but I have a feeling that's down to me and some illnesses, rather than the green days :)
    My Sister is also veggie, but prefers WW. As a few people have said, we're all different.

    Worth a try though isn't it?? :D

    I have a food diary. But, just to warn you, I have started eating some ethically (as good as it can be!) sourced fish again.xx

    I'm a ww girl but thinking of moving to SW and I'm a veggie so its been great reading the replys on here. I can't get to a meeting so will either be going it alone or signing up for online xxx

    Hi guys. Im new here and starting slimming world again as iv never actually followed it properly before. Im a veggie and really struggle on choice of food. Have lost 1.5 pounds on my first week. Hoping to learn how to use this site n get some tips n help from u guys.

    Want to lose about 3.5 stones. Could use some help and support.

    Welcome to the forum, there is so much info on here once you start searching you'll find your way around. You could start a diary & ask people to comment/offer tips ;)
