Am convinced by water!

Also (apparently) the colder the better. Ice cold water apparently has minus calories as it takes your body energy to warm it to body temperature. So, according to my dads PT, the colder the better.

Just a word of warning - take care if drinking ice-cold water after exercise (when your body is hot) as this can upset your tum. You might also find the same if drinking ice cold water in a hot climate.

Also don't drink ice-cold water after a hot meal - it just "sets" all the fat in your stomach and makes it harder to digest. You are far better off having something like green or herbal tea to aid digestion!

Good point, I'm pretty sure that as long as the water is markedly (but not too much) below your body temperature though the same applies but, you're right, don't drink it too cold when your body is hot.

I used to only drink tea and diet coke but since starting drinking water I, like you, have found I've been craving it more but that's a good thing, I believe it is your body re-identifying the difference between thirst and hunger (earlier in the thread we said about a lot of hunger being dehydration) and now I drink water, tea and ocassionally diet coke (maybe one glass a week) which from 2 litres a day is quite a change and it's all coz I want water instead!

I, too, am noticing that drinking more has made me more aware of times when I am thirsty and need to drink even more.
Trying to drink in the mornings when I am waiting for the kettle to boil is also helping me not feel quite so RAVENOUS as I normally do. Here's hoping it helps me keep my breakfast human-sized (as opposed to ogre-size!)
