Another Atkins starter - with questions

Stay away from the semi stuff switch to soya milk much better, 15g off carbs a day must be greens!!

Hey steve, thanks for the welcome. Yeah I'm off milk altogether for now, kinda weird feeling! Think I've just about nailed the carbs for today, phew!

Nice 22lb loss btw!

Hello and Welcome Michael, I too have Total Greek Yog - make sure it is the full fat one though (although you are not supposed to have it on induction, nor fruit - except rhubarb) so don't overdo it. Enjoy Atkins :)

Hey Quak, thanks!

Sounds like I better stay off it for the time. I'd really like to see a couple of quick mini results so I don't get disheartened. Tho can't wait to get back on the yoghurt again.

Hey Michael, welcome to the board, fellow n00b here!

For awesome tasting, low carb protein shakes I tend to prefer Nutrisport 90+, 45g protein per serving, only about 3.6g carbs....

Loads of flavour...not sure where stocks it apart from ebay where I get it quite cheap....

Chocolate one is a winner!

Hey Flutter, thanks for the welcome! I love how supportive everyone is here.

How come you jumped ship from Dukan as well? So glad to hear you're getting better results from Atkins than Dukan! I hope to join you. It just still feels so wrong eating fried food to lose weight!

Hi Michael one of the great things about Atkins is this forum! Dukan for me too restrictive, not tasty enough, not losing (major one that!) and also when I totted up how many carbs in a day it was at least 40 - 50g if you include the oatbran, veggies, yoghurt etc so made sense that it wasn't working too well.
Enjoy the fried food and embrace it it'll work! ;)

Hi Michael, well done on your 7lb dukan loss - i too am an ex dukanner - i got to goal, but then went a bit haywire on maintaining so came back to good old atkins to lose the weight again and eat yummy food.
Have you got the book? if so is it the old one or new one?

As for the lunches Cheeseburger pie is the way to go! yummy (and manly ;) )
you have some great advice on here already.
best of luck!

Hey FJ, Vicky!

FJ - thanks for the tip. I hate buying stuff off the net...waiting to get stuff delivered. Know of shops that might do nice ones too? Don't want to get it delivered to work in case ppl start asking question (blush).

Thanks Vicky. Your reason is why I jumped ship to Atkins too - I'd put in a fairly good week but was about to fall off the wagon big time so thought it better to 'relax' the criteria a bit rather than waste progress so far. Didn't get the book, just did a lot of reading here and on other forums - sneaky! How did you find your progress once you jumped ship?

After one week of Dukan my progress had really slowed down. I know I'm only 2 days into Atkins but I'm worried about not making any or too slow progress. Aside from keeping carbs below 20g and lots of water, has anyone got any tips to keep up the progress?

Also another question if I may...for breakfast I had egg+cheese omelette + 3 sausages about 7am. Is that too much? I wasn't anywhere near stuffed but I wasn't hungry enough to eat until about 1 this afternoon. I really appreciate Atkins doesn't mean free-for-all.

Much love to you all!

Eat when you're hungry Michael, and if you're still hungry, eat some more.

Don't ask me how but it works. Some days I'm not hungry at all, other days I'm eating all the time...

Susie

Isn't it just the craziest that you're supposed to eat all this stuff on a diet. I hope I see results as good as yours! I'm a little bit hungry now but seems so wrong to eat something high-ish in fat this close to bed time!

It's a crazy world!

i love being a crazy atkins person!

LOL@Marty

Michael - as we type I'm scoffing some leftover Mattesons and pork loin with grated cheese over it.

Talking about cheese on another thread pushed me over the edge :D

I also can't remember how much cream we're allowed in Induction - can someone help before I make a Mim?

I just had about 30ml of cream and 6 (yes 6!) fresh raspberries. DEL-ISH-OUS!

Having a pang of guilt now tho. How many carbs do you think they contained? The cream had about 0.7g carbs.

try this.....pour some over some frozen berries, and leave to sit for a while, until the berries defrost. it turns into a kind of mousse thing.

works better with pouring cream rather than the extra thick mind you.

sounds nice. If I feel guilty eating 6 raspeberries though I better hang off on the berries for a few days!!
