Any advice greatly received

Im currently on SW and struggling if Im honest! I know my struggle is down to my own lack of dedication and control and I can't seem to snap out of it. Im pleased with the progress I have made in the last 6 months but feel like I need some weight to move more quickly! Therefore I am considering, and only considering doing a VLCD - I think that by eliminating food I am removing the problem and the temptation!
Ive read around on this forum and wondered if anyone would be able to shed any light on which might be best for me or if their are any pro's and con's to each? Are Lighterlife, Liptorim and Cambridge all the same? (sorry for my ignorance) And how do I go about doing one if thats what I decide? do i contact my GP first or see if there are any counselors for them in my area? Can anyone think of anything else I might need to know? Thanks in advance xxx

i do lipotrim and love it , it consists of choc strawberry and vanilla shakes, chicken soup and flapjacks(in wk2) its £36 a week cambridge is similar in price but there is alot more flavours and you can have bars, and they do ready made cartons, and i looked into lighter life its £66 a week and not far off lt maybe a few more flavours but its nearly double in price!
lt you need to find a participating chemist on there website a pop down and see them the other2 you find a local counciller and contact them hope this has helped and good luck with whatever you decide

Hi Rainbow

Just a note about the different diets, they all work in the same way

Lipotrim - from the pharmacist, approx £36 per week - limited flavours. 3 a day

Cambridge - more choice, have bars and ready made shakes (more expensive I think), about the same price, go and see a counsellor once week/fortnight. 3 a day. Need to get checked out by GP

Lighterlife - more expensive £60 odd a week, but have to go to a group where you get counselling- they do Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. Maybe good for you if you feel you are addicted to food, as that is how the counselling approaches it. Total abstinence for 100 days plus. Need to get checked out by GP.

W8 - this is the one I'm doing. See a consultant once a week, go to a group once a week or do it online with support over phone/email. £49 per week. 4 shakes/soup a day - good choice flavours including a Spaghetti Bolognese meal with soya mince and real noodles - which really helps if you are craving "real" food. Rapid plan you have packs for three weeks then every fourth week you add a meal as well every day from a list of allowed foods. Regular you add a meal every day. Weekender - packs in the week then supplemented with food on a Sat and Sun - good if you like to socialise on a weekend. I like the flexibility - food isn't "banned" so if you have a social occasion you can go out and eat choosing foods from the list and not feel like you've cheated! Also you are allowed half a pint of skimmed milk every day - godsend for me - hate black tea and coffee. No need for GP visit

I've found it surprisingly easy and it has made me rethink my attitudes to food, when I eat, habits and stress eating, and I now don't crave sweet stuff - its even been easy to kick the vino. You do have to be in the right head space though the same for any diet - If you decide VCLD is the way for you we will all be here to support you.

The speed you lose is very motivating and helps with the willpower. I lost more in 3 weeks with this than I did in 9 months on SW!

Have now lost over 3.5 stones since April.

Good luck with whatever you decide and ask any other questions you have

Carol x
