Anyone in the 10 stones trying to get into the 9's??!!

Hi everyone :)
I'm doing Slimming World from home and also exercising 5 days a week, started on 11 February 2013 when I was 11st 1lb and I'm now 10st 6lb which is good but really struggling to get any lower which is annoying because my goal is to be 9 stone. Any help/encouragement is greatly appreciated x

What exercise are you doing. I planning to get back to running after my holiday x

I'm doing Nike+ Training on xbox kinect. My fitness levels are going up and def good for me. I do anything from high knee running, jumping jacks, burpees, combination of some together etc. It's very hard work but I actually love doing it which for me is good x

Hi Everyone

I joined SW on the 21st March. On my first weigh in I weighed 10st 9lbs, the following week i only lost 1lb and then the following week stayed the same and this week lost another pound. So i have now been on the diet for 3 weeks and only lost 2lbs. I feel so disappointed, I have been sticking to the plan and also doing at least 4 classes a week.

Does anyone in this thread find it more difficult to loose weight as we are not that overweight in the first place? My friend has told me to stick with it and it could take anything up to 6 months to get to my Club 10! I just hope i can stick it out that long.

I always worry my syns are what is holding back my weight loss, how many do you all have a day/week?

Any help/advice you can give will be much appreciated.

Thanks
Lisa xx

Hello to all the new people!

1lb down for me this week so back into the lower half of the 10s. I've been really stuck between 10st 5-7 for weeks and weeks so I'm desperate to break through! I'm away at a wedding this weekend though so I'll take what I can get, as long as it's a loss!

I do find it more difficult to lose weight as I get closer to the BMI boundary. I did SW a few years ago and it was a slow and painful 0.5lb a week. I know I can't expect to lose 7lbs a week but my weight loss suddenly slowed at the end of Jan and I haven't lost more than 1lb a week since then. I know if I stopped coming to SW though I'd end up gaining and gaining again, so I'm just going to stick with it! I'm going on holiday in October and even if I only lose 1lb a week between now and then I could get to target in mid-August. Then I get to save my weekly memberships for my first bikini!

Lisa, I have reined in my syns a bit. After Christmas I was maxing them out, but my C recommends you have a max of 10 and then you have a bit of room for forgotten nibbles, miscalculations or slip ups. I try to have at least 5 a day, even if that's just doubling my milk/cheese allowance for 6 extra syns. I'm averaging 7-8 a day now (especially since Malteasers Bunnies are off the shelves!) :giggle:

okay as i expected after 3 weeks eating practically everything on sight im firmly back in the 10s! seems like i get within the 9st bracket and then give up! heres hoping third time lucky xx

Hi everyone can I join please, weigh in last night put me at 10 stone 12 pounds which is great as I only have 19lbs to target. however I'm scared. I don't feel that in 19 lbs I'll be happy (cant see it making that much of a difference and I still feel fat) so I think I'll end up giving up. Sorry just having a bit of a wobble

Hi, can I join?

My weight has gone up and down like a yo-yo in the last few years. Did actually get to target of 9st7lbs. But I'm now 10st10lbs.

Would love to get back to target.

19lb will make a huge difference - when you see what a pound of fat looks like - imagine loosing 19 of those and for extra measure, swapping a few pounds of fat more muscle as well. How tall are you?

I know it has taken a while for my head to catch up with my body - as I still have the same problem areas I often think I'm bigger than I am and that wearing a 10/12 is not "real". Be careful you don't end up with an unhealthy body image and on a road to constant self criticism.

Finally got into the 10 somethings by the skin of my teeth 10 stone 12.5lb . Not sure if I want to be in the 9's but definitely want another 10lb gone, 9 stone 12.5lb would be something I never even envisaged.
I know this is going to be slow now - have upped my exercise and have been struggling with pains, really poor nails, tiredness etc - so have decided to try a month of more protein,as think I run on empty too often. So might not get weight loss this month but hoping for fat % loss.

I've been doing plenty of exercise, eating well but then having the odd carb binge day - plus feeling tired, full one day, hungry another, few aches and pains. I went to a guy who is running his own fitness/nutrition gym and progs and he's said I should cut the carbs and ramp up the protein for a month, that I'm just not taking in enough protein to build new muscle. And that my 3 meals a day should be enough not to need any snacks (but I can have 2 if needed). By the way, it's lots of lean protein/eggs/greek yogurt(not Greek style!),cottage cheese (bleeeeurgh!). Might be worth a try. I'm only 2 days into it and feel much more energised today.
Come on the 9's are calling!

Thanks for your comment feeling better after seeing the 1lb of fat pictures yak! 19lbs is loads really. I think my problem is I've lost 4 stone in 25 weeks which is not a long time so as you said myhead hasn't caught up to my body just yet.

Anyway here to getting into the 9!

So frustrated just come back from weigh in and have put on half a pound! I felt like crying on those scales after being so good for a week!
So i have been on SW for 4 weeks and lost a total of 2lb! Feel like a total failure and really want to eat about 10 chocolate bars in one go right now!

My friend has recently told me to cut out carbs after 6pm, has anyone tried this? I might give it a go this week and see if it makes any difference!

Hey ... I can understand how frustrating this is as I had to accept I would lose on average 1/2 a week! Once I accepted this I found things easier. The weeks where I STS or put on I find really difficult to stay motivated! I used to want big losses and would crash diet but it never worked. Today I feel slimmer than I ever had but it has taken me 12 months to lose over 1 and a half stone. I try different things each week and avoiding carbs late does help me :) good luck Hun x

I find it's 80% diet and 20% exercise - have you tried switching your eating habits, or tracking every single thing you eat/drink for a week in something like My Fitness Pal - as most people underestimate what they eat. Look at your macros as well - ratio of protein, fat and carbs.
My exercise this week has been - Sunday 45 mins jogging Monday 30 mins Kettlebells Tuesday 1 hour swimming and 45 mins jogging Wednesday 30 mins kettlebells and an hour aqua class Thursday 30 mins cycling Friday 30 mins Kettlebells & I'll be going for an hour swim this evening. Some weeks I swap one day for a boxercise class.
I can't do the hours in a gym thing but really think you need some strength training as well as low level cardio. I'm not loosing huge amounts of weight anymore 3-4lb a month is good for me and if I have any alcohol, even just some wine one evening then I can pretty much guarantee a stay the same - the time I could have a night out and still get a good weight loss is sadly behind me (unless I seriously calorie cut but then I'd prob loose muscle mass over fat and I think building up a good base of muscle is essential to maintain my weight in the long run - more muscle = more calories burned).
Hope this helps. I'm sure other people will chip in with their ideas.

Holiday all finished and now back home to healthy eating and running... The 9's are calling me x

Hi Trying100

My weight has gone up and down like a yo-yo the last 1-2 years and i have now decided to do something about it, i want to loose weight and i want it to stay off. I have a holiday coming up and have been doing 5-6 classes a week (i.e. Monday - 1 hour body combat and 45 mins Fab Abs, Tuesday - 1 hour Tri-Class, Wednesday - 1hour Body Combat, Thursday - 1hour Tight and Tone, Friday - 1 hour Body Combat, Saturday - 1 hour Body Combat). With this amount of exercise i am really struggling to loose weight and i started at 10st11lbs, i am now down to 10st 9lbs after 4 weeks. However after a disappointing weigh in on Thursday i went home and measured myself and realised that over the last 4 weeks i have actually lost 5.5 inches in total (that is off my waist, hips and chest). So althought the weight might be taking a while to come off i am definately loosing something!

Problem is i would rather see the scales come down too but people keep telling me to be patient!

I think the key is to make sure you eat a healthy balanced diet and i truely believe SW offers that if you follow the plan correctly. However if you do step off track i.e. not having a 1/3 superfree or missing a HEX then i think you will notice the difference when you are the weight we are because we have less to loose.

hi all,
