Anyone in the 9s want to be in the 8's ??

I found I got into that state of mind as I was in the high 9's zone, but found the motivation to carry on. You're definitely not a failure - think about how well you have already done. It's a big lifestyle change, I know it definitely was for me. It's all about learning to make healthier choices in the long term and in my experience this is something that came with time (I've been following SW for a year and a half and only recently has healthy eating become second nature to me) and right now you're at the beginning of making else changes. It's like breaking a habit of a lifetime! How long have you been following SW?

For me, the feeling of seeing a loss on the scales and a difference in the mirror was the biggest motivator of all - perhaps start making a photo diary to remind you of the good things that happen when you make the right choices?

Running wise, I ran for around 15 mins a day for a while last year and didn't really notice a difference at all. However this time round, running for around 30 mins a day (3 times a week to begin with but 5 times a week currently), I'd say it took a couple of weeks to notice my thighs had slimmed down but most importantly that my endurance and general fitness had vastly improved. A couple of colleagues of mine are raving about a book called 'run fat b*tch run' which is about finding the motivation to run for weight loss and fitness - though I haven't read it myself.

Most importantly, keep your chin up and realise your achievements in weight loss already. There's always tomorrow to keep trying :) xx

That's such good advice Charlie. I'm desperate to join u girls in the nines and I'd never thought of it like that. All about lifestyle choice. Thank u!!! Xxx

Sorry Kim. But in my defence, if I hadn't, I wouldn't have seen my fat percentage go down which in turn has spurred me on to get back on plan!! ;)

Won't do it again, promise x

Forgiven Annie! Well done on you with the fat % that's not a lot left 4 you to lose now. Hey, we all have dodgy days & Im no angel, SW is for long term health as we all know. Just stay focused, think of the summer & the binkies coming out of storage & with your running you will soon see a change in your body x

I'm going to look for that book. I don't think that I am demotivated with the running as such, its still just completely alien to me and I'm still getting used to it.

I first started SW in Dec 2009 and went from 12st 11 to 11st 2, then I rejoined in August 2010 and went from 11st 10 - 10st 8. I joined this time in Feb 2012 at 10st 5.5 and have lost 8.5lbs, but was 10st 10.5, as I lost 5lbs on my own since new year before joining group. I'm definitely finding it harder as my weight goes down (obv, haha)

Just don't want to get stuck in a rut!

Sounds like my worst nightmare right now!! ;) we're not going on holiday until next year, so highly doubt that I'll be getting a bikini out!

I can never seem to draw the line though and a bad day turns into a bad week x

I'm on my phone (in bed!) so can't see your stats....how far off the 9's are you? I'm sure you will be there before you know it.....I feel like that about the 8's can't wait to see that lovely number 8 on my scales! X

My OH get annoyed with me as well, I know it's a terrible habit that I need to break. In fact, your telling off has knocked some sense in to me and I shall put the scales away until weigh in on Saturday - and I encourage you to tell me off again if I confess to getting them out before then!

I typed all of the above reply on my phone, I'm a bit of a dork really!

On my old BB, I could type without looking haha - now that's bad!!!

I know from experience as this my second time around after getting to target last year, a lot of it is in the mindset of one bad day leading to more bad days. There is nothing wrong/bad/guilt in having the odd day off plan, but its the strength needed to get straight back on it & if you want that slim toned body its what we need to do.....have your off plan days if they're planned but get straight back to it.
This weekend were going to my brothers so booze galore & chili I think & then out for mothers day with the mothers.....but I will make health choices & then back on it on Monday x

I'm going to work on it :) no birthdays/celebrations this coming week either, so got no excuse really. And after 2 gains, the lbs might fall off!!

I think it's got an actual program for starting running too, it does sound really good and will probably invest soon :)

I was 10.1 and a half as last weigh in... Could have probably got into the 9s if I'd stuck to it this week but had a bad weekend so will have to keep my fingers crossed for a STS :( xx

See, you've already had some fantastic losses :) keep reminding yourself of those! X

Well Kim, you'll be glad to hear that I have put the scales in the airing cupboard until Saturday and didn't weight myself this morning (for the first time in a couple of months!) and it actually felt good that it wasn't the first thing I thought about when I woke up! I thought I'd be anxious but if anything I'm the opposite! Thanks for the telling off :p

I always find that crossing the stone barrier seems to take forever. But trust me, after crossing 13, 12, 11, 10 and 9 I can assure you that you'll get there if you stick at it :)

Hallalujla!!!!!! Well done Charlie, that must have been a hard thing to do :) I think its quite liberating weighing once a week, coz if you weigh daily & its not a good result, its such a horrible feeling. But at least if its only once a week its bearable. Dont forget with you now, not saying it will, but it may take a while for you to shifts those last few pounds, as you havent got anything left to lose really?! Now you've upped your running think how toned you'll be getting, but possibly wont see it on the scales for a while.......you'll be getting 'buns of steel' as my DH says x

Yes I definitely agree, and am prepared for very slow losses in the run up to target. I can definitely see the difference in tone - I've got bigger biceps than OH! X

No way - he runs too fast and makes me feel rather inadequate!

He is full of compliments, he absolutely loves it though is adamant I was still attractive before I lost weight! X
