Anyone in the 9s want to be in the 8's ??

Right, body fat analysis - need your help ladies!

I know they're not necessarily accurate as they're not SW scales - although they do show a loss (even while wearing jeans) :)

Fat index - 12.03.12

% - 30.9
Lean mass - 6st 11.2lbs
Fat mass - 3st 0.3lbs

Fat index - 19.03.12

% - 30.9 (no change)
Lean mass - 6st 10.3lbs (lost 1lb)
Fat mass - 3st 0.1lbs (lost 0.2lb)
__

Does this mean that I'm not eating enough to maintain the exercise that I have been doing? Surely I should be losing fat and not muscle! I've been eating until I am full - I haven't felt hungry all week  Surely there's no point in overeating?

Had your physical weight changed any hun?

I know that when I lost 3% in a month, my physical weight went up 1/2lb but I am so much more toned. I actually put it in google and took tips from there and they worked lol

Sorry I'm not much help and rambling now!

Xxx

I'm staying here hun, not leaving you all!!

I think that with SW I just worry too much and I can't relax. Whereas with calorie counting I can eat that slice of pizza if I want it and not feel bad about it.

I just think that staying to group takes up a lot of time after work and I like to just get in from work and chill out :-(

Xxx

I find that I have better losses if I stay to group. I have to stay at my Dad's house as there aren't any buses home after group finishes, but means I can have a lay in (and go for a run) on Thursday mornings.

Whatever you decide to do, I hope it goes well x

Its difficult to judge because they're not the same as group scales. On the 12th (Monday), I was 9st 11.5 but at group on Wednesday, I weighed in at 9st 13. Yesterday I did it again and it said 9st 10.4lbs, but that was with jeans on. My scales at home say 9st 9.4lbs, but they don't measure body fat. I wasn't doing it to find out my physical weight, so I didn't think wearing jeans would matter, but I guess it could have mixed the numbers up a bit?

Kim, don't be mad, I wasn't midweek weighing on purpose - I was just trying to find out my body fat percentage! It just all so much more involved than I thought.

It's all so bloomin' scientific, I don't know whether there's any specific plan I can follow! I think I'm going to have to look it up. Don't they say that you should eat more protein when you're trying to build muscle?

Evening everyone. I am so please to be joining you here after been in the 10s since October! I am not sure what I want to get down to yet but I thought I would join you as I have been keeping an eye for a week or so and you seem like a friendly and active group!
I nearly cried tonight when the scales said 9 13.5 I jumped off and hugged my C. Hope these loses keep up though my OH says I need to stop. What does he know!

Yay glad you made it :) x

I can't scan it, cause I can't figure out how, so I took a picture of "THE" picture that started my journey. More than a few tears were cried when this photo was first taken!

The other picture is me from the weekend, trying on the size 8 dress I bought - can't figure out how to rotate it though x

I've figured it out! Multi quote is the small button with speech marks next to the normal quote button. Press that one for each post and then when you're at the last post you want to quote, hit the normal quote button and it'll take you to the advanced page :)

9:30  I've already been up for four and half hours by then! ;) I'd give anything to not have to be up until then!

Wit woo looking great hun! X

Thanks honey! x

Morning ladies :)

So I had the conversation with OH about him being supportive etc and he said he doesn't like the fact I just go to group and pay £5 to weighed and then come home straight away.

So we were talking about going back to calorie counting because he said I was happier doing that rather constantly thinking about syns etc.

So the options are rosemary conley which is £34.99 for 3 months but you also get a magazine, portion pots and measure. Which overall works out quite good value.

Isn't calorie counting essentially the same as slimming world? You could still have the slide of pizza with your points! Xx

Hi Nikki. But surely going back to calorie counting, you will still be 'obsessing' about numbers whether it be Syns or calories......we still have to count something! And would you be changing over to make him happy or you? OH does have a point tho, why pay £5 just to get weighed when you could save that £5 towards something else & just weigh at home! Or stay to group?
Sorry if Im going to sound a bit controversial now & please dont take it the wrong way as we're all in the same boat here, but Im being 'devils advocate' & trying to see it from OH's point of view & if Im honest mine.......you want to lose another 15lbs & that will take your BMI down to 18.6, which is 0.1 away from the 'unhealthy' range.....is that not a bit low & possibly why you dont stay to group as the Consultant would tell you that as well???
Nikki, please please dont be offended by what Ive just said, its that I care what we all do to our bodies & I know how losing weight can take over our lives & be all consuming.
I noticed from another post you said your size 8's were falling down & you wear size 6's......are you not slim enough now?
Again, please dont be offended by what Im asking.....Im older than you chicks here, so am being a bit of a mother hen :) x

Seems everyones OHs are not as supportive! Luckily my C understands my financial difficulties and because I help out she just keeps me at target and changes it when I go under.
I think one thing about been with a group for so long is the feeling of what happens when you are no longer seeing a lower number and just seeing the same number. Im not sure how I am going to cope when I am no longer jumping off the scales because I have lost. I have been doing SW nearly a year now and for someone to say stop losing. Im just not sure how that would feel! Does anyone else feel the same?

Definitely inclined to agree with Kim on the calorie counting vs syns thing, either way you had to be careful what you're eating and count something.

In the 1.5 years I've been doing SW I've only paid for 3 months and that was near the start. Since then I've been weighing at home with support from this site an a couple of relatives who also follow the plan. If it's the money you're worried about then perhaps you could try that? I've never had any problems finding out info etc.

Eeeeechh, dont honestly know is the answer! Im not sure tho, if they are bog standard scales in Boots if they would be truely accurate & surely if they give you those numbers there should be an explaination for the numbers?
Sometimes I think we can look too deep into things (not you Annie) & then get ourselves in a pickle about them......I know I do!!! I have a % fat thingy on my scales, but take no notice of it......just go by your measurements & WEEKLY weights (forgiven about weighing earlier)!!! x

Sorry, I feel as if Im telling you all off this morning, Im not.....just caring thats all & Ive been at this 'dieting malarky' forever!!!! x

You know there's the 3lbs leeway either side of target? Is there anyway that Nikki could call target and then decrease it by a lb or so each week? Then you could still go and weigh, but not have to pay the £4.95. Does it work like that or do you have to pay once you change target? I'm not sure, I've never got to the point of calling it, lol.
