Anyone in the 9s want to be in the 8's ??

I can't scan it, cause I can't figure out how, so I took a picture of "THE" picture that started my journey. More than a few tears were cried when this photo was first taken!

The other picture is me from the weekend, trying on the size 8 dress I bought - can't figure out how to rotate it though x

Blimey Riley...........you look a different person Annie & you are soooo tiny! Pretty dress x

Eeeeechh, dont honestly know is the answer! Im not sure tho, if they are bog standard scales in Boots if they would be truely accurate & surely if they give you those numbers there should be an explaination for the numbers?
Sometimes I think we can look too deep into things (not you Annie) & then get ourselves in a pickle about them......I know I do!!! I have a % fat thingy on my scales, but take no notice of it......just go by your measurements & WEEKLY weights (forgiven about weighing earlier)!!! x

Haha, did you see my post explaining myself to you so you wouldn't be shouty with me! ;)

Thanks for the post. I'm not really sure what to believe - there are so many conflicting accounts of what is 'the right thing to do'. I'm just worried that my lean mass will go further and further down and then my % will go even higher

I just want normal hips and thighs! Is that too much to ask?! lol x

You can change your target by 7lbs and go 3lbs either way. So if you called target now you could go down by 3lbs without paying. Then once you go down below that you have 1 week to get back into your target or get to your new target and you dont have to pay. So for example
This week call target........free
neek week -1lbs....free
week after -2lbs....free
week after -2lbs....free
week after -2lbs...still free then change your target to that.
Thats what I have been doing since December.
Hope that helps

Thank youuu - don't feel tiny though! I still don't see it, until I compare the photos. I feel like I've still got so far to go sometimes..

I was going to go find out my body fat % out of interest just with the talk of it on here, but have actually decided against it as realised that I really don't want another number to worry about! If you keep at the exercise you will tone up and look great anyway, your pic you posted earlier you look great try not to get too caught up on another number :) x

I did indeedy :) 40 mins! X

Good girl x

Seems everyones OHs are not as supportive! Luckily my C understands my financial difficulties and because I help out she just keeps me at target and changes it when I go under.
I think one thing about been with a group for so long is the feeling of what happens when you are no longer seeing a lower number and just seeing the same number. Im not sure how I am going to cope when I am no longer jumping off the scales because I have lost. I have been doing SW nearly a year now and for someone to say stop losing. Im just not sure how that would feel! Does anyone else feel the same?

I quite often read the 'maintainers' thread as I was there last year, albeit very briefly, & they all sound as tho they struggle as SW dont really offer any support except to up the Hex's. I think its possibly more a psychological thing tho, as we spend months/years trying to lose weight & then its an entirely different psychie when we get there as we think that 'goal' has gone....in fact its even more difficult to maintain I think.....how many of us keep returning to 'dieting', I know Ive battled all my life.
I think I may do some research into that today & see what I can find & I will let you all know.
DH may know the psychie behind it so I'll ask him later when he calls.....he knows stuff about psychie stuff, beyond me! x

And you're doing something about it by running! Its a fabulous for toning, but it takes time like everything. Look back 6 months & how your body looked then, I bet its changed, so in 6 months time with all your running it will have changed again!
Are we ever happy with our bodies? I think Ive got past the stage of trying to 'conform' to what 'society' says we should look like. I get very cross & get on my soap box about celeb magazines & how they portray women. I've seen so much heartache thru my job, it 'just aint worth it'! Haha tho, Im still trying to lose weight tho......but for the right reasons....health.
Sorry I do grumble on...... xxx

Thank you, I think I'm not going to bother from now on! Might do it once a month or so, but won't rely on a machine (especially not the usual scales I weigh on) to tell me something that my tape measure is just as good at doing! :) I'm very good at getting caught up with numbers lol

It's going to be a very strange concept to aim to maintain. Every week you get a real sense of accomplishment from losing weight, yet it's just going to feel like you're just plodding along each week without really achieving much. It's easy to see why old habits die hard.

And you're doing something about it by running! Its a fabulous for toning, but it takes time like everything. Look back 6 months & how your body looked then, I bet its changed, so in 6 months time with all your running it will have changed again!

I know, I know - you're right. I'm very good at expecting things to happen immediately. Charlie said it took a couple of weeks of running 3 times a week before she noticed her legs toning up, so I won't give up. I just hope the tape measure is kind to me in 3 weeks time!

And go by your clothes as well. I try on my little summer dresses I could wear last summer every now & then & I know once they fit comfortably I'll be happy! Last year I went thru all my jeans/cargo's etc & put all the too big ones into vac pack bags & Im determined never to see them again, but it costs a fortune buying smaller clothes.....I have accumulated various sizes thru the years!!! x

My wardrobe ranges from (more recently) size 8 to size 16! Although I went through everything a few months ago and gave everything that was too big to a charity shop, so I wouldn't have the opportunity to fit into them again. There was some logic in there somewhere!

Evening everyone. I am so please to be joining you here after been in the 10s since October! I am not sure what I want to get down to yet but I thought I would join you as I have been keeping an eye for a week or so and you seem like a friendly and active group!
I nearly cried tonight when the scales said 9 13.5 I jumped off and hugged my C. Hope these loses keep up though my OH says I need to stop. What does he know!

HIYA just spotted you - welcome to SINGLE FIGURES - am trying to be really good this week so I will have a bit of leaway should I have a bad week. - Well done you - great feeling isnt it - I cried as well.

Hi Nikki. But surely going back to calorie counting, you will still be 'obsessing' about numbers whether it be Syns or calories......we still have to count something! And would you be changing over to make him happy or you? OH does have a point tho, why pay £5 just to get weighed when you could save that £5 towards something else & just weigh at home! Or stay to group?
Sorry if Im going to sound a bit controversial now & please dont take it the wrong way as we're all in the same boat here, but Im being 'devils advocate' & trying to see it from OH's point of view & if Im honest mine.......you want to lose another 15lbs & that will take your BMI down to 18.6, which is 0.1 away from the 'unhealthy' range.....is that not a bit low & possibly why you dont stay to group as the Consultant would tell you that as well???
Nikki, please please dont be offended by what Ive just said, its that I care what we all do to our bodies & I know how losing weight can take over our lives & be all consuming.
I noticed from another post you said your size 8's were falling down & you wear size 6's......are you not slim enough now?
Again, please dont be offended by what Im asking.....Im older than you chicks here, so am being a bit of a mother hen :) x

I'm not offended Kim :)

I think the reason I want to lose some more is because when I hit 9st 3 in feb I still felt very bloated and I have "back fat" and "bum fat" lol and that's the thing OH agrees with and he can see why I'm unhappy with it. Also, I still look like I have wobbly cellulite belly which I hate. Oh and don't get me started on the rolls I get when I sit down! And I even ripped the lining in my size 8 work skirt!

Currently I can fit in my size 8 jeans (all new look and next) but I can get in many size dresses at all. And I dot think I'd be able get in some other shops 8's.

I told my consultant my target weight and she seemed happy enough for me to do it. I just don't think the whole group thing is for me. I had a lovely consultant and every time she moved I moved with her.... Now she doesn't hold groups and I think my new consultant Is new and doesn't have the enthusiasm of my last.

Also, I always thought I was 5ft 7 but in fact I'm 5ft 6.5 :-(

Thanks Kim for your kind words :)

Xxx

I moved house this week so emptied out all my clothes. I only have 1 pair of my 'fat' jeans left. Just for comparison. I even tried on my dress from my 16th birthday and it was too big!

I have no idea what this body fat % malarkey is, and I have no intention of measuring it! Perhaps if it's confusing you so much you should ignore it - you already have weight, measurements and BMI to go by and at least we understand these! Stick to your running, I promise it will make a difference. When I measure on sat I will post my thigh and hip measurements from the last few WI's so you can see the difference! :)

Fantastic! I wish I'd have kept some of my fat clothes to take one of those legendary pictures where it looks like you can fit another person in the trousers with you!

Gosh the threads moving so quick for me to keep up on phone! X

Thank you Nikki, as the last thing I wanted to do was upset
you & glad it didnt come across as harsh, as its sometimes difficult to portray when typing & not face to face :)
Haha, about back & bum fat....as my DH would say, is that just not skin!!!
I hate my belly as well! Most of my wobbly bits are from under my boobs to my belly....yuch! When I got to target last year I called it my 'crinkley crunkley tummy'! Im quite lucky as thats really the only bit where I hold my weight & have what you would call a 'curvy' figure & not a pear/apple/butternut squash shape....whatever next, shall we go thru all the vegetables & fruits to describe our body shapes lol!
Whats happening girls, are we all shrinking in the height dept
with dieting......I refuse to measure my height, Im 5' 1" & thats where Im staying :) x

I think that's very wise! It's just another thing for me to get hung up on when this last leg of the journey is already difficult!

It would be fab if you would be able to post the measurements - I've barely lost an inch from my hips since day 1 of SW and it's very disheartening! Thank you Charlie x
