Might be a stupid question but I'm about to start sw for the first time ever tomorrow and wanted to know if peas and sweetcorn are free on ee as there seem to be conflicting views?

Also what do people use for pasta sauce and how many syns please?

I'm optimistic for this plan and would love to hear your experiences.

    Thanks x :)

Peas and sweetcorn are free, but unlike most veg they don't count as superfree, so perhaps that's where the confusion comes in?

People usually make their own pasta sauces - try doing a search in the recipe sub-forum for some ideas

I think the confusion comes as they are not free on red.

This recipe looks nice and can be frozen into individual portions:

    Rich Tomato sauce
    Serves: 4
    Syns per serving:
Negligible Syns on Green, Original and Extra Easy

    Ingredients
    2 onions very finely diced
    2 cloves garlic chopped
    1 carton passata
    2 tin chopped tomatoes
2 cup chopped tomatoes with herbs and garlic
    Fry Light
    2 tablespoon tomato purée
    1 tsp Italian seasoning
    1 tsp garlic salt
    1 tsp onion salt
    1 tsp celery salt
    salt and black pepper
    1 tsp granulated sweetener

    Method
Fry the onions and the garlic in Fry Light. Stir fry quickly to brown the edges then lower the heat and sweat the onions for about 10 minutes until starting to soften. Add in the rest of the ingredients, mix well and simmer on a very low heat for about an hour.
