Asda fresh ready to eat noodles syn value

Hi all , I've been looking throughnthis site for a week or so now and as I've just got my first week over with , I thought id join now so here goes .
(hope this is in the right place )
I'm doing the extra easy plan and all has been going well until today . I've eaten a whole bag of asda fresh ready to cook noodles 410g ( the ones out of the fridge in fruit n veg aisle) according to the syns list it's 0.5 syn for 28g so in my case is it 14.5 syns for the full bag ? ( I did think ALL noodles were free )

That sounds more realistic. So 8 syns for the whole pack. I expect the 0.5 syns for 28g is a result of rounding up to the nearest half syn. The noodles themselves are free, its just that fresh ones always have oil added to stop them sticking together.

Also noodles with flavourings etc added will have syns, so unless they're plain dried noodles its best to check first.

careful, the fresh packet weight & the final cooked weight will be different, ie it won't still be 410g once cooked and drained

They're *fresh* noodles, no need to cook. Thats why they've got so many syns in, its the oil to stop them sticking.

Fair enough, better to double check sometimes....easy to get caught out, someone at class was eating what she thought was 1.5 syns and it ended up as something like 4 or 5 when cooked...she assumed the weight on the packet would be the cooked weight

But just because they are fresh doesn't mean they don't need to be cooked - all the ones I've seen still need boiled although for a shorter time than the dried noodles.

Ive never boiled them, I microwave them for about 45 secs.
The varieties Ive used have always included microwave instructions on the back.

EDIT: Waitrose version:
"
Stir Fry
5 mins. Heat dry wok for 2 minutes, add 1tbsp oil and noodles and stir fry for a further 3 minutes. Serve immediately. Do not reheat once cooled.
Microwave oven
Microwave ovens vary: refer to handbook. Cut corner from the bag. Place on a microwaveable plate. Cook on high (100%). Check that food is piping hot. Two or more packs may require longer cooking time.."

Tesco version:
"Microwave Step 650 Watt 750 Watt 850 Watt

Microwave From Frozen Step 650 Watt 750 Watt 850 Watt"

Stir Fry
Time: 3 mins
Instructions: Remove all packaging. Heat 15 ml (1tbsp) of oil in a heavy-based frying pan or wok. Stir fry over high heat for 3 minutes, stirring continuously. Serve immediately.


No boiling instructions.

I just threw mine in the wok with the rest of my stir fry for about 1 minute or so basically just to warm them through .

sorry to seem thick but confused now - so are they 8 syns or 14.5 syns?
Only asking, cause noticed a packet of these in our freezer and trying to use whats in rather than going shopping.

If it's the Asda Fresh Tastes Egg Noodles, 410g pack it's 8. Any others you'd have to put through the calculator again.
