Attack Attack onto Cruise

Hi there, I am planning to start this in a few days and just got a quick question to ask (sorry if it has already been answered)
After my attack phase (Dukan website says it should be three days) I obviously go onto the Cruise phase 5/5. Do I do the first five days on the cruise as pure protein (like the attack phase) or go onto the protein + veg for the first five days or doesnt it matter?

I hope this makes sense! Thank you!

Hi I too am away to go onto the next cruise phase. i believe he recommends thats we alternatate one day pure protein and one day protein + veg. Thats how I read it as it is easier to follow and less likely to bore us. KGB

Hi
That's how I read it too, 1 day PP 1 day PV. I'm starting on Tuesday. Just been to M&S to get my shopping in.
Good luck

Hi, I think what you're asking is for the order in which to begin the alternating days? Personally I started with PV...otherwise it would just be a continuation of attack :)!

There are subtle differences between PP and Attack-for example you increase your oatbran allowance to 2 tablespoons per day and you must limit dairy to 1 litre per day. But I think the reason most people start on PV is because they're mad for some veg after Attack!

You can choose the rhythm that works best for you. I do 4/3 PP to PV because I find it easier to do PP in work and save my veg for the weekend but other rhythms work just as well. You'll find out for yourself what works for you when you try it

Go for PV first - those vegetables will taste so good.

Then I would start alternating PP/PV days for a couple of week.

Later you may find a pattern that suits you better (Like Teasey I did 4/3, because it was easier to save all my veg and salad for the weekend, when I was cooking and socialising

Agreeing with Atropos and Teasey here. The book (and coaching for me) had recommended a 1/1 alternating rhythm starting with veg first after Attack. The reason has to do with being able manage the PP days without frustration or giving up (so the PV days add something new to the mix). I also moved from 1/1 to one that would allow more veg on weekend: 2 PP/1 PV/2 PP/2PV rotation so I would have 4 PP days during the week (breaking up on Wed with veg) and Sat & Sun veg. You'll totally find what works for you - just remember to try and organise the best way that will keep you motivated and interested!

Thank you for the advice, not planning to start for another few days so going to re-read the book! It was def the order (Pv first or PP) that I wasnt sure about, as I will most certainly be craving some salad by then!

Just another quick question, the 20 minutes walk a day, is that in addition to any exercise I do already as i do quite a lot of walking plus other gym classes most days.

Thank you all in advance!

My understanding is that 20 minutes is the minimum - so if you are already definitely walking 20 minutes at a time, stick to it.

What kind of classes do you do? You may want to skip the more strenuous gym classes while on attack.

You will have far less energy for those few days than you have now, and your muscles will be under stress as you will be rapidly using up the store of glycogen they use.

Ease back into your schedule of gym classes as you enter cruise.

Thank you for the advice, usually do between 2-7 classes a week a mixture of pump, combat, step, conditioning plus the 3 mile walk there! This is why ive decided to pursue dukan as my weight wasnt shifting despite sticking to ww and all the exercise!

I will take each day as it comes, maybe replace classes with swimming as its lower impact.

Thank you again for your help ladies

Hi Misseveet - sounds like a full load! I do a lot of the same classes (though not as much - I'm about 5x a week). I have to say the 1st couple of weeks were really tough especially the 1st Step class I did while still on Attack. BUT, it gets waaaaay easier - in fact I feel I have more energy to do better workouts. Maybe its just a time thing... but be sure to eat properly beforehand (as usual) - I tried for mince or steak on the mornings I had a strenuous workout at first. Think it helped :)

Good luck!

Thank you soshbfly (and everyone else!) Re-reading the book today, then will plan my menu to start on sunday (i am house sitting till then) boyfriend has been threatened with death if he dares utter the words takeaway/carbs/chocolate/cider from then.
