avatar's!!! help

right i have made over 20 posts now and stupid thing still wont let me set an avatar!!!

any ideas peeps????????????????

and am i right in thinking that i need 50 to thank people and view profiles??

also, i see a lot of people have very long signatures recording weight loss and progress and targets etc. it would only let me write a few lines...will this change in time too??
