week 2, day 2

I lost 2.5 lbs,
I am eating healthily and watching my portion sizes. although it has been hard over the BH weekend.
I wish it was a huge amount like some doing the CD etc their losses are amazing, but I don't think I could stick to those diets, so it's just going to have to take a while.
I think from reading other posts for tips, I need to drink more water so I will give that a go this week.

I don't know how to update the ticker thing.

2.5 pounds is a great start! (I couldn't manage any loss with healthy eating!!!:mad: although it was good prep)

I'm not doing a VLCD - I'm following the GI Diet and I've lost four pounds in my first week... Apparently I should lose a similar amount this week and then it's two pounds a week after that. I know 2 pounds per week might seem not much but if you can do that every week - thats over half a stone every month. Are you also doing exercise? I know that playing sport or exercising helps the weight come off too...

I need to lose a similar amount to you so I'll be here too for a while with the slow and steady approach!:)

Thanks everyone for your support and comments, i appreciate it.
You are all doing great, it gives me a boost just reading all the posts, everyone is so friendly.
Curvy chicken just read your blog thing, it's really good, you write really well, i will have a look on ebay and the other clothes sites too.
Its good to know I'm not going to be the only 'slow coach' on here lol,
although I wish I could do the VLCD's, everyone seems to be doing amazingly well on them,
I did slimfast a few years ago for ages and lost loads, eventually I put it back on and a ton more, and once I have done a diet for ages I find it very hard to go back to that one and try again,
I have to try a different approach each time, I have lost all the weight quite a few times but never learned to keep it off.
I have recently given up paying a monthly gym sub 6 months after i gave up the gym, I hate exercise, but I am psyching myself up to walk everyday.

I thought I was doing ok until I stepped on the scales this morning.
The scales show I have put ON 1 lb!
It's not fair, I didn't go out for dinner or have any take away at the weekend, I ate healthy food, loads of veg,more water than i usually drink,
I rarely drink alcohol anyway so didn't miss that, no chocolate, no crisps, no biscuits, no cheese, no pizza! I ate loads of fruit and veg a little chicken, some fish, and i piddling well put on a pound.
I don't mind cutting back and not eating whatever I like and sticking to healthy eating, but i'm starting week three today and have lost 1.5 lb,
I think I will read the GI diet book again see if I can manage to follow it.
I hope everyone has had a better week than me.:(

That sounds like me, I stuck to LL 100% and put on water last week :rolleyes: I'm matter of fact about it now but I wasn't at the time. :mad:

I am happy with 3lbs loss, but have decided to give cambridge diet a go, just need to find a counsellor now.
I have cut carbs down today and have managed to drink 4.5 litres of water so far will try and sink the next 1/2 litre before bed, I have never drunk so much water but am going to try and get used to it before I start the cd properly,
