Back from Birmingham

    As some of you may be aware, I went to Birmingham for a couple of nights for work. You may remember I was worried to death about how I was going to manage the diet. Well, Monday night I went out and drank water but did have a steak and some lettuce. Tuesday day I did not give in to the temptation of the buffet and to be honest, it was the most lovely looking work buffet I have ever seen:cry:. I had a tetra while everyone else tucked in getting great delight from describing every single taste sensation to me!!! Anyway, I didnt want to go out on the Tuesday night, but coz it was work and I only see these people once a year I thought I'd better make an effort. I had 2 bottles of fizzy water and NO food. But ....... this afternoon at the lunch time, the same buffet came in. Guys, I was starving. So, I opened a prawn sandwich and ate the prawns out of it - sad or what. At the airport (I was there 5 hours), I phoned my mam nearly in tears coz I though I was gonna faint with hunger. She said I HAD to eat something, and being the kind of girl who always does as her mam tells her, I bought a chicken sandwich pack. Well, I ate one (bread and all) and the second one I just picked the chicken out of it and threw the rest in the bin.

    Getting weighed tomorrow night and I am scared stiff. I slice of cheese on toast on Sunday, steak on Monday, prawns on Wednesday and another slice of bread with chicken. I am worrying myself to death and I dont want to see the CDC. If I have put weight on I know I will give up - £35 for nothing!!!!! I Hope I am OK. I still seem to be in ketosis??? Hows that???

    Mia honey - please try not to fret too much.

    This is just a blip - you suspected SS while away might be difficult and under the circumstances and I think you did really well to eat as little and as selectively as you did.

    About the ketosis - it sounds like the only carbs you had was the one slice of bread from the chicken sandwich - we all have different tolerances to carbs and it might be that the amount you took in was not enough for your body to come out of ketosis.

    The fact that you are still in ketosis is a great sign and you never know if you glug the water (not too much glugging in the 2 hours leading up to WI though ;)) and get back into the SS zone now your WI may not be as bad as you think.

    I know that if you have a poorer loss this week it might seem like a waste of £35. However, looking at your ticker you are more less half way to goal which is fantastic and shows that CD does work for you. Mia I really do believe that you can do this and I really hope that this little blip does not dishearten you so much that you give up.

    I don't think what you ate sounds too drastic. Look at the positives, you resisted almost EVERYTHING on a buffet you thought looked gorgeous. Think about what you didn't eat that you might have eaten before instead of thinking about the one or two things you did eat. I think you did very well! :)

    I can wear a pair of big knickers under the dress - its the bloody bikini I'm losing sleep over lol

    I think you did fab, and you will be pleasantly surprised, just think what you would have eaten if you were not dieting ! x x

    Hi Mia,

    I think you did really well to resist all the other foods, so focus on the positives rather than the negatives, sure you will be fine at weigh in.

    Hope you enjoyed Birmingham, we are quite civilized down here :D
