Baking a birthday cake.....

Totally inappropriate question for a weight loss forum, but I'm making my mum a birthday cake for her 60th using number shaped tins, it says they are the equivalent to a 9" round tin - does anyone know how I work out how much ingredients I need, I've found recipes but no actual tin measurements!!! Its for around 50 people so I don't want to do it wrong!!! Think I may have been a bit ambitious!!! Btw, it's a lemon cake if that makes a difference!!! Thanks :)

I'm not a baker of any kind! But my logical brain of solving problems would probably make me fill the numbers with water, then fill a normal round cake tin with water, then measure both, then try and equate the measurements from there? I'm sure some far better way is used but I wouldn't know lol, plus I hate maths! X

Here's my practice run with a Delia recipe - was worried about the icing but I'm pleasantly suprised!!!
