Barb's Up and Down Diary

Jem I think you would find it very liberating, it is dieting without the diet! I find it is already becoming a habit that is easy to follow. Also, I don't know if this is something everyone finds, but I just feel so much calmer and relaxed. I am always quite easy to wind up and like most of us have a busy life, 4 kids, elderly parents, 3 businesses to run etc... but since about day 10 I have noticed that I feel so much better in every way. It really is noticeable. Also my menopause symptoms are very much improved so I wonder if those much younger than me would benefit monthly wise?

Go on do it - you knwo you want to, you too Debbie, the more the merrier!

Love

Well week 2 done and another 2lbs off, thats a total of 6, very happy. Especially considering I did 4 UD's and 3 DD's last week.

Bring on week 3!!!

That's excellent Barb:cool:

I'm now thinking of juddering to maintain - you have inspired me!

xx

Hope it works for you Jem :) It really doesn't matter how we chose to maintain, as long as it's relatively healthy;) Just finding the right plan for ourselves.

You've done brilliantly to lose all that weight, just got to find a plan that you can happily live with. Juddd might just be the one:)

Best of luck

(whoops...sorry to gatecrash your thread Barb)

You know you are always welcome Karion!

Well a DD today. Had a nice UD, seem to be fairly controlled, had a nice ice cream and a meal out in evening. Had cheeseburger and chips, which sounds really naughty but ate less than half so not too worried. Planning a crab salad for lunch and a ham salad for dinner. Got a Tesco delivery coming bringing lots of Skinny Cow products so that will begood for my evening treat.

Still a very happy Juddder!

you seem to be sailing along quite nicely there Barb !
i do agree with you that this is such a lovely way to go, a bit of food, no guilt & then a rest - fab !
Have a good day hun
xx:)

Hi Barb

Me too on a DownDay. Think we've really got into this routine now. I love that each day is a new start and different from the last. Need to get used to buying less perishable food though as the fridge is getting a bit too full.

I'm guessing you are sticking to 20% calories on DD now you have passed 2 weeks?

I'm going to see how it goes. The last 2 weeks have been fine at 20% but as I exercise and don't need to lose too much more or too quickly I may increase on a DD. It makes sense really but I worry I will slip up. Will just have to see how it goes.

Did you think about it yourself?

Enjoy your salads.

Dizzy x

No Dizzy, I hadn't though about it!I am off to the calculator to see whats what!

Thanks for the reminder, Love

Ok, just checked and at 25% I can have 588, at 30% 706 and at 35% 834!

Think today I will aim at 588 and see how I do. Thank goodness you reminded me Dizzy, no sense in being harder on myself if I don't need to!

Well I have had a good DD, 381 cals so far. Had a crab salad for lunch and tonight I made a mushroom/ham/onion omlette with one egg and one egg white. Definately will do that again. Reallt tasty and filling and could easily have done without the ham. Used spray one cal oil, all counted in of course and it felt more like a 'meal'. I think one plate of essentially lettuce, is sufficient per day!

ha ha to the plate of lettuce !!!!
i had a bit of an oops when my daughter was nasty to me & ate a sandwich & 2 go ahead bars, now i know thats not too bad, but i didn't need it & i wasn't hungry. Oh well at least it was an UD not a DD.
xx:)

No problem then! Little minx, upsetting her Mum, it's not easy being a parent is it?

I am off to bed in a minute, todays cals stand at 523, so I am very pleased with that. Could go to 588 for 25% if I want to now i am 2 weeks in to the plan but I will see how it goes.

My sister's birthday tomorrow so out for dinner - looking ofrward to it!

have a fabulous time with your sister, at least on a UD you can indulge a little if you so fancy ;)
xx:)

16 days in and now half a stone gone! Very happy with that. Can't quite believe it. I know if I was on CD or similar I would have lost it in a week but this is such a gentle way to do it and I know I don't have the willpower to go foodless, so lucky me - an answer!
Actually do feel a bit thinner, which is nice. No desire to go mad on my UD but looking forward to a biscuit with my tea and a meal out tonight.

Not necessarily. That was my average when I SS'd. So you're doing fab!

Don't know whether you saw on my thread, but I did a DD! Didn't mean to though:D Just wasn't hungry, and ended up have 45 calories that day:eek::eek: And that was just the milk in my coffee. Never done that by choice before. Very odd.

Hey Barb

Wow, 1/2 stone in 16 days, thats brilliant!! Yes SSing is quicker (sometimes), but I think sometimes it can have a negative effect on someones eating habit. Just going from my own experiences here, but when I SS I ended up bigger than I started and not only that, my relationship to food has been screwed up by bingeing and purging. I really do think this is the best of both worlds, it's taken me a few days to get into the swing of things, and yesterday I managed my first DD - it was alot easier than I expected it to be, and I think it was the fear of 'failing again' that stopped me from doing DDs before now. Opps sorry to waffle!! lol

U're doing great, such an inspiration - I can't wait to see ur results this week!!
Have a great day!!

Much love, chelle xx

Glad to hear how you are doing Chelle, well done enjoy your UpDay.:)

hey KD, the fact that you did a DD without intentionally doing it just shows what a fairly natural way to eat this is. I have to say the weight loss is brilliant but the way I feel at the moment is even better. My negative chatterbox appears to have shut up completely, if he tries to appear my positive chatterbox (who has frankly been quiet far to long)
tells him to bu***r off! I am calmer and happier and feel that the scenic route, for as long as it takes will suit me fine. i am juddding for life.

This is an impressive thread, your enthusiasm just shines through Barb. I have heard a lot of people have trouble after SSing in that their metabolisms slow down and they have trouble keeping weight off when they can start eating "normally" again - this certainly started to happen with me. I guess the JUDDD system prevents that because the body doesn't know how many calories to expect due to the fluctuation, similar in principle to the carb cycling I'm doing.

I will follow this thread with interest, their website makes amazing claims for general life enhancement and I'd be interested to know if they are valid too. Good luck to everyone on the journey.
