So this is day 1 of my diet.. in fact it is evening 1 of my diet seeing as I have spent today finishing off the last few naughty bits of food left in my house after my anniversary meal last night (home made seafood paella and chocolate fudge cake!)..
I weighed myself this morning and I am officially 19 stone and 11lbs (277 lbs in total).. Which is a bit rubbish really and I can't believe how its crept up over the last few years.. I know I spoke to some people the other day on here but for those of you who are strangers, I injured my ankle badly years ago (whilst slim), have had multiple surgeries on it, and am waiting for another surgery which is due to take place in July this year. It has meant I have put on a lot of weight during that time. For the last 3 years I have been banned from doing ANY exercise including swimming by my doctor because of the injury. I was so desperate to lose weight I ignored his advice and went swimming a few times last year, and injured it badly again, hence waiting for another operation! So I really can't do much.
I am a teacher and do spend a lot of the day on my feet and it also means I dont have time to snack during the day. I eat healthy food most of the time, no take aways or biscuits or crisps. Just massive portions which I've become accustomed to and which if I dont have, im starving! So i guess its just about retraining my body a bit.
My lovely boyfriend of 3 years proposed to me and we've suggested but not booked a wedding for next winter (2012). Which means I have about 15 months or so to lose a LOT of weight. About 100lbs or so would be nice! I dont have a a particular target weight, but I would like to be a UK size 14 or 16 when I get married rather than the size 26 I am now.. #
I guess I just want to look on the outside, the way I feel on the inside. And I want to be able to look back on my wedding pictures with pride and to not mind having my picture take on the day etc.. I also really want to start a family after i'm married and know that currently i'm probably a) not going to be able to conceive and b) going to be unable to run around after a baby so that is something else to keep me motivated..
