Beelishy's VLCD Weight Loss Adventure!!

Afternoon! I hope you and your girls (Mal, too) have a lovely Easter.

Morning
So 218 (sts) is great really. Will stick to plan and just hope for the best tomorrow. As long as Ive been on plan, any weight cant be REAL weight. So, no worries. :)

You reasoned this out well!

Food today:

Shake x2
Spag bol and salad
Coconut bar (i love these for 5g carbs! bargain! lol)
2-3 eggs

829/56

Which coconut bars are these?

Nothing planned today..or this weekend for that matter. Saving saving saving! Today is sunny again but chilly and tomorrow its back to rain and bleh. Tonight we colour eggs. Im so excited. My mom sent an egg dying kit from the states last year (after easter. typical of my mother. lol) and we are gonna use that. I havent used them since i was little. :D <img src="http://www.minimins.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=134204"/>

So excited. Its got stickers and all sorts. :D She's gonna have so much fun and OMG...Im sure when I was little we used to boiling water for the eggs but this says just vinegar and water. Not vinegar and boiling water. So, WIN!! I had to laugh at the colors it says on the box though...."red, orange, yellow, TEAL, DENIM, purple". So...green and blue, then? hahaha :p

I'm glad you mentioned the eggs - I need to boil mine. I meant to yesterday and forgot.

We had a mini- (ok kinda major) freak out yesterday about Mal's healthcare in the states. We thought we had it sorted but then saw something that said he had to wait 5 years...and,,anyway..it got confusing and we (mainly me) got panicked. We sorted it in the end...kinda. But still. Its all so incredibly daunting. Still...it will work out. :D

I thought with the new Obamacare laws - there are no longer restrictions on "Pre-existing" conditions.

So...my BFF is pregnant right.

AND HER DUE DATE IS TABBYS BDAY. Odds are it wont happen on that day....I know. But its SO CUTE! :D :D :D

Oh and to say thank you to my sister, I bought her some Glitter Mod Podge and 2 big books of GOOD paper. Just a little thank you gift. And not only was she suirprised and LOVED it, but she's making some really awesome stuff (already!!) Yay!

Enough babbling. I want to go back to bed and i cant..so I might as well get the day going. :D Have a lovely Easter weekend, all!

How exciting on your BFF's baby! And, I'm glad your sister appreciated your gifts.

Ok. Holy crap, you guys. Exante do pancake packs now. Like...a sachet of pancake mix. You just mix it with 100mls cold water. I ordered one of each flavour to try. It just came and I made up the blueberry-raspberry ones. AND OMG

You get a decent amount of batter....i got 4 or 5 palm sized pancakes (which i will pop in the fridge and graze on. Keeps me going til the afternoon! and its just 1 pack) and its got a nice texture....very similar to the pancakes made with oatmeal but less oaty. Which i actually prefer. I like a smoother feel. AND. Its lovely!! The fruit taste is subtle and its subtly sweet as well. Perfect. I am totally in love. They ARE 20g carbs each and 200 cals. BUT. Worth it.

I could do pancakes, a shake, a savoury pack (either chili or spag bol) and a bag of asda smart price salad (cheap and v low carb) and a bar for under 750 cals and under 70 carbs. Im going to have a trial run today and tomorrow (blueberry ones today and maple tomorrow!) and then if it goes well, I will order a box of 50 as theyre currently £50 for a box of 50. yay

Good to know. I might try these for a change. I like your ideal of making them and having one every so often.

Its the S&S coconut and Dark choc bars. Theyre the smaller 35g bars but taste nice and only 5g carbs. perfect for me. I also love the praline ones but they are 10g so I have those on days when I have chili as my savoury pack, because spag bol is so much higher in carbs.

Im going to go boil our eggs now and then pop them in the fridge for later. When Mal gets home from work, we will have dinner and then colour the eggs. :D

Obamacare has no exclusions on the basis of pre-existing conditions, but we wanted to make sure that there were none on the basis of nationality/citizenship status. For Medicare, there are. You can be an LPR with a green card but then you have to wait 5 years to be eligible. For lower cost private via the market place (and to qualify for tax credit subsidies and/or lower out-of-pocket costs) you DONT have a wait period as an LPR but you have to earn more than 33k per annum for a family a 4. So in effect, you have to be working but not well paid. Otherwise, any income under that and it defaults you to Medicare - which you cant be covered under if youve not lived in the country for 5 years as a legal perm. resident.....So...We wont have jobs when we land...and will not have any income. It would default us to Medicare. Which wont cover him until he's been in the country for 5 years. So in effect...we will have no coverage. The girls and I can get covered under medicare/chip BUT he wont have any coverage. So we are going to have to 1) get him an initial consultation with a Rheumy and just eat the cost and 2) Get jobs as quick as we can. Anything, so long as we make $33k or more combined to start with...and then we can get low cost coverage via the marketplace.

Whew. lol So thats how we have spend the last 2 days. Researching.

Afternoon,

I'm not sure what is the nature of Mal's medical needs. Is it mostly prescription or is actual treatment care?

I think you meant Medicaid not Medicare. Your children should be covered whether you and your husband are not. My niece doesn't make loads as an LPN, so her children are eligible for Florida's "Healthy Kid's" state funded insurance. She carries insurance only on herself (and that was barely affordable before the insurance reforms).
Florida is not the only state with healthcare programs: California and Hawaii have their own medical coverage programs. In NYS they had a program that paid medical bills for people without insurance - you had to schedule stuff early in the year as the funding didn't last the whole year.

Have you looked at health clinics and other options for medical care?

Many employers still provide medical insurance no matter what your salary is . . . the health benefits offered by your employer are often a major factor in choosing your job or staying in it.

Hospitals are usually excellent for health insurance and benefits. You might consider doing an on-line medical billing course prior to moving - then applying at a hospital, medical center, doctor's office.

School districts and other governmental type employers also usually have good health benefits. (I was a teacher.)

Then, you need to look at major corporations - they are usually pretty good.

Maple pancakes you say!!! Gimmee!!!!

Omg I thank God (who I don't believe in) for our NHS we truly don't appreciate it. If only those sly conservatives weren't trying to run it down so that those who can afford it say 'sod this, I can afford to go private so poop to all those who can't, let's dismantle this loony lefty communist health service shall we?!'

1 degree!! Brrr my OH would be the grumpiest man alive up there he hates being cold he's still in his big winter coat in this spring weather down here

Give me a maple pancake update stat!!!

So we have done our eggs and Im quite pleased. I was worried that the brown eggs wouldnt take the dye very well but they did nicely. eggys.jpg

and tonight the Easter Bunny (aka, ME! :D ) will come and hide them and leave them a basket of treats (if theyre good. There are still a few minutes before bed in which they could lose it... haha). So once theyre asleep i will get up and hide the eggs and put the baskets out.

So excited for them to get up in the morning.

Evening!

They're turned out very well.

I will hide DD's basket after she's gone to bed. I'll probably hide it in her brother's room.

No egg hunt - unless, I decide to fill some inexpensive plastic eggs I have. The base grocery store is open tomorrow - so, I may go see if they have discounted candy for an impromptu egg hunt if my friend (visiting from Australia) comes by her two youngest.

Ugh. Cramps from hell and its sooo heavy. This suuuccckkksss.

This is the thing about the NHS, Lou. In theory its fab. In practice...it mostly sucks. Not enough money/staff. The medical world is progressing and youd never know it. I cant get any help for something which is quite troublesome for me. Neither system is great but if I go to the doctor and ask for help and get refused...why bother?

Silly Tories...ruining things!

Ive just put the girls' baskets out. Will hide the eggs later. Dont want them to go off....theyre hubby's dinner! Haha. (Yes really!)

Morning!

sts - 218. And TOTM is soooo heavy. I just realized Im nearly out of pads. And its Easter Sunday!! Luckily theres a tesco garage thing about half a mile away. Im gonna hike up and get some now so I can come back and get my PJs back on. Todays gonna be a lazy day. The girls loved their egg hunt. Zoe found 3 or 4 and everytime she would scream Eeeeeeeeggggggggg!!!! lolol. Theyve both had loads of chocolate already this morning. lol. Ahem.

Anyway.

Maple pancakes arent as nice as the blueberry ones. Theyre not very sweet. but I do like them and I think it will be good to have a bit of variety so Im going to order a box of 25 of each. For 51.49 posted (using "standard delivery through hermes) it works out muuuucccchhhh cheaper.

So yay. Gonna do that now and then go up to tesco. xx

Morning!

Could you add a little sugar free sweetener to the maple ones?

I hope you feel better soon.

Have a nice chill out :) i'm at my mums just gong to have a second breakfast haha carb free of course although I picked at the leftover pineapple before coming out, naughty

I've got a roses Easter egg but will give it away to my angels....i'm kind of thinking though, could I have just one of the chocs out of it if there is a nutty one in there? Just one? Hmmm....!!

Need to get my ass back onto those packs when they come, what i'm doing is fine for maintenance but I've still got some way to go so can't get cocky :)

Happy Easter in your pj day! Itstotally miserable down here weather is rank

I'm weighing tomorrow - I've not been strict enough.

You're so good at pulling it back.

Hubby was still sleep at 9:30 ...whilst I had been awake since before 6am (thanks to Zoe) and up since 6:30. Zoe hasnt slept past 6:30 since the time change. Always happens, with both of my girls. So. I was bored and sick of waiting around. I got them ready and me ready and we went out. Hubby messaged me at 10 as we were waiting for the bus and ended up meeting us in town and we all went to the park. Theres an asda over the road with a mcdonalds in. we were gonna do a picnic but i figured it would be packed in the picnic area (IT WAS) so we ate at mcdonalds (i was tres naughty and had a big mac. grr) and then walked 3 miles around the country park. it was lovely. pics are on fb. anyway....it was a nice day but now Im just blugh. so...

the rest of this week....

SHAKE-A-THON!

I will have 4 shakes and 2-3 eggs every day until WI. I was thinking I might do 3 shakes and have the eggs on some salad because i dont want to waste the salad. so not strictly a shake-a-thon, but pretty much. but can i bear to eat just plain salad with boiled eggs? i dunno what i can put on it. nothing, i guess. so tough sh!t. lol. Im gonna put both options into MFP and see what it says....

778/52 for 4 shakes and 3 eggs

or

696/47 for 3 shakes, 3 eggs, 1 bag of asda smart price salad and 1 tbspn balsamic vinegar.

so i will go with the latter. and i think vinegar is no longer alllowed (not are pickled veg...because of the vinegar) but...boohoo lol. its just a tablespoon. and i will measure it out. so thats what i will do.

i also got some camomile tea. its quite nice...and caffeine free. and requires no milk. lol. so there we go. its not even a full week. i can so do this....

Hi B!

I had a shake for BF and because my family had pork chops tonight -- I'm having a shake for dinner. So, I'm shake-a-thoning partially with you!
