Best Holiday You've Been On?

I'm only back from Vegas and I miss it like crazy, loved every minute of it! :sigh:

Where have you been that you'd love to go back to? I'm looking to book somewhere else but haven't a clue where to go!

Ooo, a holiday thread! Love these :)

Kenya is top of the list. Loved it. No hope of ever being able to afford the holiday I want there, or getting the time off work for it (15 day safari)

Jamaica, but I did go back to get married so done that!

Funnily enough, whilst I had a great time in Vegas I wouldn't necessarily go back there. Where'd you say VC? It definitely the most mental place I've ever been!

Stayed in The Cosmopolitan beside The Bellagio, its only new just over a year I think, it was fab, our Balcony looked out onto the Bellagio fountains, loved it! I'd go back in the morning, was there for a week and easily could have stayed another week! Yeah mental is too calm a word to describe Vegas lol

Never would have thought about Kenya or Jamaica! I think i'd like to go to San Francisco!

Very nice! I've stayed at the Venetian & the MGM before. Love the Bellagio fountains though.

Ooh I loved Vegas - we stayed in Circus Circus. I didn't realise it was quite so sleazy though - there seemed to be girls giving out 'business cards' everywhere! I'd go back like a shot though. Do they still have the rides at the top of the Stratosphere? That was mental - shooting up the pole on the top of one of the tallest hotels in the world, lordy, did I scream!

Just to add, San Francisco is amazing - really great. Trips to Alcatraz, riding the cable cars, going over the Golden Gate bridge etc - well worth a trip.

OMG you did those!! My husband did it with the 3 other husbands (there were 4 couples) I couldn't even imagine doing them I'd have heart failure lol

Yeah those 'card' people were pretty annoying especially that clicking sound they do! It was mad walking through the casinos and seeing the prostitutes glued to the guys who where onto a winning streak lol

Definitely the best holiday I've ever been on!

I thought it was funny how the card people try to give those cards to blokes who are with their Oh's. Me & the hubby were wetting ourselves laughing !

Nothing exotic but a friend got married last year to a girl from County Fermanagh. Never been to Northern Ireland before (ROI only) and the countryside and lakes around Enniskillen were stunning. We felt immediately chilled and relaxed and even my teenagers can't wait to go back.

I've never felt that way about Ireland lol I'd do anything to get out of it, would love to emigrate to sunnier shores but just don't have the guts to do it!! :sigh:

I've planned some holidays for this year but have about 4 days left to take, I'd love to go to Ireland, the scenery does look amazing. I'm waiting for The Sun holidays to come out for later in the year & may take a look what's in Ireland.

Best holiday ever was last year to India, we travelled South India on the train we went to some amazing places, tried some lovely food & met lots of nice people.

But I also love Florida, it's not just Theme parks there are lots of nature parks which are brill with so many different birds (I quite like a bit of bird watching:confused:).

We've been to Vegas & went to the Elvis museum which is very close to the red light area:eek: I went on the rides at the top of the Stratosphere whilst OH watched:D

Ahhh you never appreciate what's on your own doorstep do you? I live near some amazing places and my childhood beaches were on the Gower and Pembrokeshire. I grew up close to Pembrey Country Park:
Carmarthenshire's Country Parks - Pembrey

I never thought it was anything special.

A few years back I "did Dublin with a mate who is a Dubliner born and bred. She loved playing the tourist in her own city. She saw and did things she's never thought of doing before (and I have to say the Literary Pub Crawl was brilliant :D)

Ah nothing beats a pub crawl around Dublin! :party0016:

New York is the most exciting place I have visited. Went for the first time at christmas. Its just how you think it will be (from every film you have ever watched) but better!

Fave place in England is Whitby or Robin hoods bay. It always makes me smile. Tea shops, second hand book shops and the beautiful Abbey ruins.

I've been to NY twice and thought it was just ok :sigh: it just wasn't what I thought it would be, I think I need to go back again with just my husband as if i'd never been before, the two times before i was with other people so always had to do what everyone else was doing (hate those types of holidays) maybe i'd enjoy it better if I went on my own!

Without a doubt, Florida. I love it. The theme parks, the shopping and just the general relaxed way of life <3 Well it seems relaxed anyway :)

Yeah I loved Florida too, think I'd like to go back there! I think the yanks are so much more relaxed about life, that's one thing I noticed in Vegas and one of the things I loved about it!

I'm not hugely well tavelled.
leuven in belgium is stunning.
normandy was rainy and boring for me as an 11 year old
the south of france was sunny, beautiful and relaxing for my honeymoon.

best holiday though...? got to be last year in norfolk. 1 week in a self catered chalet with hubby and daughter and the most fun i have had in years.

my favorit bit was nearly falling into a broad off the back of a hired boat while trying to pick blackberries as a snack lol.
