'BIG' .......Bring on the summer :D

Lost a pound this week.. not really sure how to feel about it! Im happy its a pound less but I had such a good week with no slips at all and walked loads..ah well I did win slimmer of the month for april which cheered me up! :D

Been ok today ended up eating toast for dinner (4 slices oops) but all in all a good day.

Great walk - over an hour at a good pace, legs killing when I got back. Toast? What a nice treat - I had a bacon sandwich for lunch instead of a shake. Yumity.

can i join?????! 17 stone 2 lbs at mo :sigh: ...and would love 4 stone gone!!!! started celebrityslim today.... help!!!

Morning everyone.

Had a really good couple of days but not a glimmer of a difference on the scales. I know it shouldn't but I can't help thinking something should show because my scales show to the nearest 0.2lbs. This is when I begin to wobble cos my brain starts to think I can eat more than 1200 cals and stay the same so why not up the amount I'm eating. Not good.

Shorter walk today cos dog had to go to vet's for booster - quite glad cos its raining now. Lots of pottering before a live game of poker later when I'll treat myself to a pint of lager.

well an up and down week, but I am now back to 12 12 and more importantly I ran 15 k today- so happy- took 2 hours tho! I am sore and my body was rubbed raw by a bra that has decided it doesn't fit anymore!! (aching!!!) Thought it'd be good for you all to hear the disgusting side of running!

As I dont have to work today i am going to the cinema now- I love matinees- real escapism!

How are we all doing?

Im ok, not been too bad, no other major mistakes but I think my calroie intake is up a little but not going to stress over it, well I might Monday if there is no loss ha ha!!

Considering its supposed to be rainy today the sun is currently out, so hoping for a nice day, have some friends coming to visit for the day so hoping I get to do abit of unnoticed walking :) just got to make sure I dont slip on food if we go for a meal.

I've not read the whole thread - 32 pages is a bit much for this time on a saturday morning!

I'd like to join in, if that's ok. I could do with an extra bit of motivation and support ...

I'm currently dithering around the 18st7 mark and would ideally like to be around 12st by the end of 2010. I'm on a Weightwatchers plan, for food, and need to concentrate on upping my exercise, as I'm eating pretty well in the main. I've given up cheese for May 2010. I think I eat too much of the stuff, so it's gone gone gone. :)

i've been avoiding minimins a bit cause i'm not on track much with diet and i'm racked with guilt- i'm having stomach probs at the mo and can't bloody figure out why- i feel really ill most days now- so what do i do? i comfort eat...and something in there makes the problem worse...and the cycle goes on! i am back to almost my start weight for the year and am absolutely gutted. don't see light at the end of this tunnel. however i have booked in for a private allergy/intolerance test with the hope that i can figure out whats making me sore and bloated all the time. i have that in 2 weeks or so. fingers crossed i can figure this out and banish these demons once and for all!

something that struck me the other day was the price and rarity of nice big size clothes. we should do some sort of minimins jumble sale or something, get rid of stuff thats too big once we get thinner. cause i have some absolutely gorgeous clothes and i was thinking about what i'd do with them if i eeeever lost this bloody weight- would be great to pass them on to someone who was hoping to not be that size for too long, then they pass them on again! not so much for basics cause they're cheap to buy anyway but more the fancy stuff. xx

If you are ill, you need to take time to care for yourself. I'm glad you are getting it checked out, have you spoken to your GP and asked for a referal to a specialist?

It sounds very much like something a friend of mine has , she was told constantly told it was IBS but kept pushing it. She was finally diagnosed with gastro entiitis or soemthing like that (sorry just not sure) , its ongoign condition that she has had to learn to deal with.Point is, get yourself properly checked out and do not rest until you are satisfied.

Please use here as a sounding board. Guilt is such an insidious feeling, it eats us up.

Dont be so hard on yourself, if you have gained the weight you can get it off again when your ready, but dont hide away, cos that can make it harder to come back, so good on you for posting, I always like to think its good to vent so do it as much as you want :D

At least your going Doc's and hopefully they can find the problem, maybe whilst there you can say about your weight getting you down too, maybe they can offer some extra advice??

Clothes thing is a good idea, certainly better than just throwing them away :)

I have been trying to lose weight for years now. I think I've tried most of the diets going but like most people, as soon as I'm told I musn't eat a certain food, I crave it!

I saw this site this morning and thought that perhaps having others in the same situation might be motivating.

I made a promise to myself not to ever join a slimming club again so my plan is very DIY and very simple. Given that my main problem is portion size, I have decided to reduce all my portions by 50% and see how I get on. Therefore I have no specific restrictions in my diet other than amount.

I'd like to lose 4 1/2 stone preferably by the end of the year. I don't do much exercise but I do try and take the kids to school by bike. I aim to try and do 10 mins of additional exercise per day (trampette and free weights). I agree it doesn't look like a lot on paper but what I'm trying to do is consistently exercise which I always find difficult. Therefore if I start with small amounts and increase gradually, hopefully I can stick with it.

The final thing I am going to try and do is meditate for 10 mins a day to try and clear my mind of all the reasons why I can't lose weight and focus on how I can.

Goals

Start 3 May 2010 - current weight: 13 stone 7 pounds

I have 35 weeks to go and 49 pounds to lose.

Plan is to try and lose between 1-1 1/2 lbs per week

Week 1 -
Week 2 -

Good luck, sounds like you know what your doing so now its just the matter of sticking to it :) I also find portions are very difficult as I always have to clear my plate even if Im feeling sick, so its probably not a bad place to start

Last day before the WI tomorrow, just realised I still have 27lbs to lose in order to reach my first goal of 4stone by September 6th :eek: so 18 weeks left!!! but having worked it out means I now only need to lose 1.5lbs a week to reach that goal!

Still petrified that I give up but so far holding on so hoping I can keep it up.

Today I plan to get out for a walk but not sure whether it will be 1 hr or 2hrs, depends if the sun has his hat on for me :)

How is everyone else doing?

Hi there. Welcome to the forum. Looks like you have a good plan which you can always tweak if you need to. Like you I've done every diet possible and am now trying Slimfast which is going ok at the mo. Good luck.

I'm working tonight so meals all a bit messed up but been pretty good for last few days (above cal target but not above maintenance cals) even tho I really want a pizza. I may treat us tomorrow if I feel I have the willpower not to go crazy. Scales show a small drop which is good and don't want to mess that up before WI on Tuesday.

Two big weekends coming up so need to be careful in preparation. This is where I have to think in terms of lifetime changes of habit: I cannot eat like a pig every time the opportunity arises cos there are just too many damn opportunities. I have to be able to do weekends away and celebrations with some control.

Otherwise life is good and I hope that you are all doing well. xx
 
Judith- I eat the same way as you, its like my mind thinks there is a faine coming and so i need to eat all i see and fast!!!

Guys I did my 10k race today, and bought a sports atchto make sure i had my exct time- 1.03.59 so one minute under my target!

Why dont you have a treat night/day on your weigh day? That way you still have the whole week for getting it all back together. For example I weigh Mondays so I have saved 1 hot cross bun to eat, a huge jacket potatoe and some yummy yoghurts - these are not what I would eat on Diet days but I cram them in on a monday after I have weighed so I still have Tuesday - Sunday to get my bum in gear - assuming I can get past the takeaways ha ha

OK so today is the first day of the rest of my life ha ha!!!! Woke up feeling quite confident. Plan so far is porridge for breakfast, tuna salad for lunch and who know's what for dinner! I'm off swimming with the kids later so that's a bit of exercise for today.

My biggest problem by far is of an evening when I have a tendency to want to stuff my face. I need to think of some things to do to fill up my evening.

Had a pretty crap week to be honest, to cut a long story short my dad told me yesterday he is seriously ill, he has asbestos in his lungs which has caused a tumor and has to get chemotherapy next week. Complete shock. So been pretty upset this weekend, but today is a new day and onwards and upwards.

The B'F and I are both off work today so gonna head into town and maybe he will treat me to YO! Sushi. Best food eva and it's Slimming Word friendly =]
