Bnut squash soup

Ok, I've just had a great big bowl of it. It's alright but it needs something and has the consistancy of baby food lol. Any suggestions how to make it better next time?
Did you add an onion and stock?

For my butternut squash soup I fry an onion and red pepper then add the squash with veg stock. When it is cooked I add some low fat soft cheese and season well before whizzing! It's yummy yummy!
I add some dried chillis to my butternut squash soup...

Onions, stock, butternut squash & carrots...and 2tsp dried chillis for bite..very nice and free on all plans.

I dry my own chillis too... I buy them when reduced,take the tops off and place on a flat tray on top of kitchen cupboards... leave for a few weeks and then when dried out I blitz in the food processor... fantastic & better than shop bought.
