I used to go to a gym but got bored!

Now, I just walk and garden. I have an allotment and it can be surprisingly strenuous, even though I take the 'no dig' approach. Carrying full watering cans from the communal tap to my plot helps to tone my arms; squatting to weed helps to tone my legs (and helps protect my back) and I get plenty of fresh air. The produce is a benefit too!

In winter, when it's hard to go out, I use an exercise bike. That's boring but I read or watch television whilst pedalling to help make it bearable. I also use a kettlebell for 10 minutes occasionally and a hula hoop can be quite good fun!

The important thing is to find something you enjoy doing and which you can fit into your lifestyle.
