Soo I have my weigh in tonight and fingers crossed I get my stone and a half. This week I set myself a mini challenge, to do 10 minutes of Hula Hooping a day. I managed 6 out of 7 days, so my question is can I put this down and count it towards my Bronze Body Magic? I haven't done any yet and I thought this might kick start it.

    Thank you

Any exercise that is above what what you normally do can be counted as body magic, so hula hooping is a definite yes. If you have the pack there should be a booklet on body magic there which tells you how much you have to do to get the various awards. You can either log your activity online or get a sheet from your consultant. Anything that gets the old ticker going that you wouldn't normally do can be counted, for example if you washed your car by hand instead of taking it to the carwash that could be counted, but doing your housework if that's what you do everyday anyway can't. The idea is to increase your physical activity. You fill in the sheet and when you reach the target for the various awards you tell your consultant and they should give you a certificate and a sticker. It helped be more active and gave me something to work towards x

There's an article in this month's SW mag about a woman who keeps fit by hula hooping (page 99)!

I've just bought a weighted hoop after reading that article - lots of people recommend the Pro Fitness one in Argos which is £15 and I started last night. Bruised hips today but can see it has made a difference already!

Thanks for your help. I know what you mean by bruised hips and waist, but it is good fun :D i used to love doing it when i was a kid.

Has your bruising started to decrease yet?!

Yes the bruising has gone down. It doesn't seem to ache as much when i do it either. I have to remember to do it both ways though x

Well done! I can't seem to hula hoop. Used to be able to do it as a kid but can't any more!

I read some where that if you only do the one way then the muscle on the unused side aren't getting the same work out. So I try and do one day one way and the next day the other. My group noticed a difference in my shape after a week. I will get my tummy toned.

That's brilliant and after only 10 minutes a day?! Best exercise ever! I am getting better at going counter-clockwise now and managed to keep it going really well last night. I am interested as to how you get on because the lady in the mag looks amazing and so do loads of people in articles online who have toned up doing it :)
