Bread - which is best for the points?

Hi, been lurking for a while and just started WW. Just wondering which bread you think is best for the points? Some of it tastes like cardboard and some leaves me feeling less than full! ?

Hi ya to be honest it's not great but the ww bread is good points wise. I worked out points for a normal slice of bread on my pro points calculator and it's 3 pro points I think thats too high. If your using it for toast the ww brown is fine and it's only 1 pro point per slice!!

Hi the ww thick slice either brown or they now do one with bits in which is lovely it is 2 points x

Hey. Not sure where you're from but I have irish pride kids vita bread. 4pp for 2 slices and its just normal bread so not cardboardy or anything :) much nicer than WW bread!!

Kingsmill 50/50 crusts away is good 1 pp per slice. Or the green nimble is nice I think it's granary etc

Warburtons wholemeal mini loaf is 1pp for 1 slice, 3pp for 2 slices and it's just normal brown bread.

If you want it for sandwiches, I find that bread rolls are generally more economical for points than sliced bread. At least I feel like I'm getting more for my points but it might just be me!

Warburton's soft white sandwich thins (I think that's what they're called) are nice and 3pp for the whole thin (which is 2 slices). They're quite nice .

They all sound much better choices. Thanks ladies! :)

Bread

I love bread. I've worked the kingsmill crustless bread out as 1pp per slice and 2pp for 2 slices (but I see gorgena has worked out differently, I'll recheck it). Its nice

I also like wheaten bread. Usually 2pp for a slice and 5pp for 2 but some are 4pp for 2 (irish pride one). I think these are nice and filling for breakfast or an open sandwich.

Pitta pockets are great for sandwiches (you can really pack loads in them) and as pitta pizzas. They are usually 4pp but I think weight watchers do one for less pp's.

Sorry for rambling. Hope this helps and good luck with the plan xx

My guide book says all sliced bread was 2pp per slice? I'm really confused now!

All bread is different hon. different brands, different sizes. 2pp a slice is a safe bet though! X

I like my bread, so i do spend a couple of extra points for a good sandwich!!

My favourite is Warburtond Seeded Batch 2pp a slice but 5pp for 2 slices. Its big, normal size slices and tastes bloody lovely. Its also damn good for toast!!

I do love my bread. But good, proper, nice, thick bread is 3pp a slice!

So I've been having Nimble for a while, it's not *so* bad. 1pp/slice or 3pp for 2. But I've bought Tesco's Danish bread this week and it seems more substantial somehow, same amount of points!

At one point I just wasn't buying bread, it worked out lots better, I'd have ryvita or ricecakes instead. And then if I had soup or something I'd buy an individual roll or something.

oh i must look out for the m&s one thanks

I've worked Warburton's seeded batch out at 4 pp per slice. 7 pp for two slices... :-(

Oh hang on...mine is thick sliced. Is yours medium? My partner loves this bread too so he'd be pleased to hear that he can still enjoy it. :)
