Can we talk DD?

Right, so here we go. We all know DD are not the most pleasant days as we should not eat more than 500 cal. The main issue we probably all face every other day is that we run out of ideas what to eat on DD. The variety of low cal foods are quite okay these days, but it's still a bit hard to find food which don't give you 400 cal in a lump and then starvation for the rest of the day.
As far as I am concerned I try to eat every 2 hours on a DD, and obviously those snacks may not contain a huge amount of calories.

So what I would like to suggest is a list of foods you eat on an average DD. Weight/portion, calories per 100g, calories per portion, the whole lot. This way we might inspire each other and become a little more creative for our DD food. Let's face it, eating rice crackers for the rest of our diet life does not sound appealing :rolleyes:

So watch out, the next post contains my food list of things I have eaten so far on DD.

PLEASE, list your DD foods here, so we can create a big list and get inspiration for our own DD. Variety is the key to the success for this way of eating.

Thanks ever so much for all contributions!

I quoted you and contributed my own food. I think it is better to keep the list as one list, don't you think? It might be easier to check what's already been mentioned.

what on earth is thuna?

I like:
Bananas=100
Yogurt=100
cheese=80
tuna=100
Veggies=100

that is my menu for a DD! sometimes i'll a plum with is around 30 calories. I would use some of those prepackaged snacks but since the calories on dds are so low I like to eat mostly "good" stuff. I don't want to waste 100 calories on cookies that have no value.

I like your list, I just planned my meals for 8 days (4 up and 4 down) I might try some of yours on my next go around.

thanks
karen

Great ideas here, but also see the sticky thread '100 cal snacks' for more great low cal foods that are perfect for dd's. There is so much you can have on a dd once you look around, and yes variety is the key! Nobody wants to eat the same old thing every dd!

Don't know if they have been mentioned already but walls soleros are around the 100 cals mark (just under I think) and they are delicious, really creamy ice cream covered in crushed fruit and the best thing is they take a while to eat ;)

Just thought I'd add my little idea - haven't been JUDDDing very long but have just rediscovered Bouillon powder - makes a lovely savoury drink perfect for later in the evening and only 12 cals xxx

This is a great thread, not got too many ideas for good dd meals but this is a day menu i did

Breakfast - 1 Large Portabello Mushroom with garlic salsa and low fat cheese, grilled 50 cals

Lunch - tin of Sainsburys organic leek and potato soup 140 cals

Dinner - Ross cod in butter sauce
111 cals with 3 tbsp green beans & 3 tbsp cauliflour 46 cals

Snack
- highlights drinking chocolate 40 cals + 114 cals left for any other snacks

TOTAL 500

Really loved this thread very useful only on 2nd DD but I want to get the most food for my 500 cals as i possibly can

so day 1 was

150g raspberries
100g fat free rhubarb and vanilla yog

together 100 cals

lunch
Subway turkey and ham salad with no dressiing and just tomato, cucmber, lettuce onion and green pepper
113 cals

Dinner
Homemade quorn curry came in at 250 cals for a BIG bowl

Today should be

breakfast
raspberries and yog (only 100 g of raspberries today) so 85 cals

Lunch
tomato and red pepper soup home made 93 cals

dinner
spicy mexican prawns
rawns cooked with fajita seasoning and dry fried with onions, peppers and mushroom and then 1/2 tin of tomatoes stirred in 253 cals

so still soem calories left for sugar free jelly and melon

gosh great ideas I am feeling really hungry today
