Myth 4 - You cant save your syns for a night out at the weekend

Yes, you can! If you really want to – and you feel really confident that by depriving yourself of Syns for some or most of the week, you’ll be able to enjoy your night out knowing that you’ve stayed within your week’s Syns – go ahead.

If missing out all week feels difficult… and especially if you’re worried about ‘blowing it’ part way through, the alternative is to stay flexible with your Syns. Your weight loss may be a tiny bit slower, although in the long term you could actually achieve a greater weight loss because you avoid those feelings of deprivation. What’s more, with flexible Syns, you could eat healthily and happily for the rest of your life and keep your weight off for good
 
There is nothing saying you can or cant, my consultant said its fine if you want to, although it works for some people and not for others, i guess it is just a bit of trial and error!?! It works for me, probably better than actually using my syns every day, i usually save them for some alchohol at the weekend, give it a go and see how you get on xx

Its alot to take in at first!! Some times instead of having 10 syns a day i save mines up so i have 70 if i know i am having a drink at the weekend or a night out!! I know it definitly doesnt work for evryone, and some people feel deprived not having little treats on a daily basis, evryone is different!! I can defo get through the week if i know there is a nice chilled bottle of wine for me at the end of it lol!! Xx
 
I use weekly syns too and so far it works for me (I'm quite new though and have only been doing it a couple of weeks!)
I don't find I need syns much on average days when cooking so tend to have just a few a day (they recommend having 5 a day minimum I think) and then having a carefully planned treat at a restaurant!

Some people say it's risky as once you start using those syns you saved up you might not be able to stop (i.e. you've saved up for 5 drinks but then have 10!) but I often feel guilty about using the saved syns, even if I've saved 30 I usually don't use them all because I just think about the work I've put in and how the scales will be better without indulging too much!

But anyway, I think weekly syns are great... more freedom. Some days I'll have 5 syns, others I'll have 20, others more... So much less pressure on cravings, in my opinion!

I'm going to add mine up for the week and use them that way then.. I struggle to use them each day because I eat loads then I just have no room for syns lol..

Ill save them for a treat at the weekend though as I think this will work better for me..x

Yeah same for me too :) this will prob work better so ill give it a go x
