The book has the cat pattern. You use a standard body pattern -- which I can make a copy of for you, and then there is a Cat head and front legs pattern. You use on plain sock and one red hel sock -- but I bet you could make with whatever socks you liked.

Mel, love the sock animal idea, I made a cow and a monkey from a kit that were really tricky and very expensive (they were presents for me so I didnt actually pay for the kits thankfully) but the book sounds a much better idea.

Emsiem, looking forward to seeing your ideas and makes. I cant help you with knitting but I can share your pain when it all falls apart!

Hello ladies, thank you for the welcome !!

To be honest i'm not making loads for my wedding but so far we have printed out our invitations, i'm putting together a wishing tree, and currently am in the middle of cutting out love birds as tags, i'm also preparing a sweety buffet for the evening and am going to have a go at making two marshmallow sweet trees !!

So far thats as crafty as i get......shame as i'd love to do more but the wedding was only booked a month ago and we get married at the end of march so my time is very limited !!
 
Really addicted! Planning on making mini x-stitch figures of me, bf +kitty for vday, already make the chart :D

Have you seen the patterns on martha stewart for cross stitch figures? I'll see if I can dig out the link x
