A good point about the walk maps - I'd never even thought about the safety aspect.

Well done on the on plan days - very tasty looking ones, too. I bet it feels good to be in control again. One thing - cottage cheese isn't a HEx, but if it's fat free/low fat then it's Free - bonus! Even some with flavours are free too.

Love the dogs' blankets and it sounds as though they had lovely walkies.

Oh lol! I see Cottage cheese has been split over two lines. I meant I had cottage cheese AND actual cheese :D I like cheese :p

It is good eating proper food and not raiding the biscuit tin or whatever every time I move or think I might be hungry. Lovely having proper veg as well. I'm still lacking in fruit, but I only really seem to eat fruit at work really. Prefer my veggies for superfree most of the time. I'm working this weekend and very much planning to stay on-plan, so will be buying some nice fruit for snacks to see me through.

The dogs blankets are cute aren't they? Got them really cheap on Zooplus a few weeks ago. Had to wait until the Christmas deccies were up tho!
The walks were good, a bit too rainy on Pinta's walk and I felt really mean. A few times she looked back at me like "What on earth are we doing out here?!" At least she got a run round. And we went somewhere new again so she's had sensory overload and is knackered now. The dog state I like ;)

I love these blankets! They are fab :). Looks like the dogs are enjoying them as well, perfect for getting snug in in this cold weather. I love Dave - he looks a bit like my JR. X - have a bit of a soft spot for them!

Tuesday food - today's ended up much more syn heavy than I'd planned, but considering I've been to Costa, the cinema, and shopping when I was starving and craving an Indian takeaway or freshly made pizza, I didn't do too bad really!! It definitely could have been MUCH worse! And I wanted a LOT of chocolate too. So I've given in to some food cravings and comfort eating, but without resorting to cakes and big bars of chocolate and a big bag of pick & mix and takeaways!! The Costa drink was much more syn heavy than I'd expected tho! Insane amount of calories.
Have had a bit of a stressful day as well because I got a text from Mum to say she'd been the Dr's and had been ordered to go for emergency x-rays this afternoon. He says it sounds like she has considerable scarring on one lung and asked had anyone ever told her. Obv we dunno how long it's been there or why it's happened or anything. Trying very, very hard to not think the worst. It's so hard tho!!! :( I came home from work, made a quick lunch, and we headed to the hospital. For some reason it was a drop-in between 1pm and 5pm. Results should be back later this week.

Morning break: A banana. And not any of the mince pies, Christmas cake, or biscuits sitting in the staff room!

Lunch:
2 free Quorn sausages
2 boiled eggs
Fried cherry tomatoes
Wilted spinach
Wholemeal toast (HexB1)
Tomato sauce (1)

At Costa: Medium soy milk sticky toffee latte (HexA1 + their nutritional info tells me it's around 13 syns minus the milk. WTF do they put in them?!!!!!)

At the cinema: 2 sherbety "cables" probably about 5 syns

Tea: Home made Katsu curry.
Quorn pieces, broccoli, carrot, cabbage, mange tout, peppers, water chestnuts, bamboo shoots, etc....
Katsu curry cause (4)
Tilda veg biryani rice pouch (3.5)

Snack: Cadbury's chocolate mousse snowman (8.5)

Drinks: Coffee. Diet Coke.

Syns used: 35 :(
Syns saved: -3. Balls!!!

Exercise:
4hrs at work.

Jack Russels are great. I'm the horrible little yappy dog specialist in work ;) They have, erm, character..... I love the blankets. They're a little bit like some I had on my bed in a hotel in Sweden :) xx

Character is a good word to describe them! Somedays mine is an angel and other days he's a little monster! This morning he went for a boxer on the beach and made it yelp :( Normally this particular dog doesn't bother him at all! I'm sure he has little dog syndrome!

Oh yes, I'm definitely a big fan of the horrible creatures ;) They all think they're Rottweilers as well - which is odd because Rotties are general better behaved than terriers lol!!
My boy can be a little lead aggressive and, oddly, doesn't really get on with little lap-dog types very well. Particularly Shihtzu's for some bizarre reason.x

Well done on avoiding all the goodies at work.

So sorry to hear about your mum - that must have been a shock. Under the circumstances, I think you were remarkably controlled - you know it could have been far worse, so don't beat yourself up about it. Absolutely astonished by the calories in the drink - for the record, one of the chains does sugarfree syrup but I don't know if it's Costa or Starbucks.

My sister told me yesterday that she was fast-tracked for a biopsy last Friday for 'women's problems'; she should hear the result before Christmas. It's a particularly nasty time of the year to deal with stress like that. ((Hugs))

Patty most do the sugar free syrups, but even so a regular kind of drink with syrups in are a few syns. BUT 13, more if you don't count the milk, is insane!! They must either use a LOT of different syrups or add in extra things. I generally ask for sugarfree syrups, but the Christmas/special editions ones never have a sugar free option. It was a nice drink, but there's no way I'd be spending that many syns on a drink on an on-plan day. Insanity!

I'm so worried about Mum. How many more things can she have wrong with her?!! What if it is something serious? It's terrifying!! I'm hoping, best case scenario, is that the couple of coughs/sore throats she gets a year has caused a bit of damage. That really is best case scenario and I'm trying really, really hard to not think about the worst case scenarios!! Sh*t when you know medical stuff isn't it?!! lol

Your poos Sister!! I hope all is ok and it comes back fine. My Mum was recalled after a breast scan last year, which was scary, and she had further tests and I think biopsies. Turns out she just has a couple of harmless cysts. It's scary, but I'm so glad that Dr's are generally on the ball now and things like this get investigated FAST! I will never, ever forgive the Dr and dentist who told my Dad he had mouth ulcers :(

Today is a half day off. I've had a banana in work and then porridge, raisins, bit of Sweet Freedom syrup, and Oatly for lunch.
But me and my friend Michelle are having a date afternoon/night and the plan is either eating out or a takeaway in. She has had a very rough ride of late, I've not exactly been having fun, and we haven't seen much of each other. So much needed and Michelle loves her junk food and sugar so I'd feel bad "treating" her to a SW meal LOL!! Some times you just need unhealthy food eh?! ;)

Off to pick her up now and she's braving the park with me and the dogs so we can walk them together. Wish us luck!!! Eeeeep!.x

Sorry to hear about your mum, fingers crossed the results come back quickly and are good ones. You've had a rough time recently so it's understandable of your food isn't perfect, at least you're aware of the syns and are not going mental it would be easy to say of well I've gone over and carry on eating rubbish.
Hope you've had fun with the doggies, Sam won't even entertain a walk in this weather and we have to push him out in to the garden to do his business  x x x x

No news on Mum yet. She can't get to the Dr's tomorrow either, so we'll have to wait for results till next week now :(

Hmmm yesterdays walk wasn't exactly fun. Pinta was the worst I have seen her and it was such hard work. It's really embarrassing having such a badly behaved dog too. You want to try and explain to everyone what the situation is!! I know people probably don't really care. I mean, I'm not actually letting her anywhere near people's dogs, so no one is at risk. I don't even know if it's aggression. It doesn't seem like it, but I'm certainly not going to test that!!
Anyway, my friend told me about this doggy place near us called the Dog Barn. One of the things they do are obedience and socialisation classes. So I've emailed them and explained the situation and they've said I can go to classes when they re-start in the new year. I've read the feedback/testimonials and a couple are about dogs who have the same issues as Pinta. So I feel a bit better. Worried because the classes are held outside in the open and, you know, it will be bloody cold in January! I've asked Mum and Michelle if they can come with me (either/or) whenever they can. It helps having a dog trained with a few people involved, so they don't just rely on one person. I'll be the main person, obviously, but it really does help having more people involved.
Hopefully that it is just a case of her not having any social skills and being anxious about everything.

I just took the dogs for a quick 10min walk round the block each. Went out about 10:30 so it was dark, cold, and raining, yet still saw two other dog walkers. We are a crazy bunch ;) Pinta saw one dog and did bark, but just a few times, and also came to me when I asked and walked to heel.
I've been teaching her "heel" for a few days at home. I wanted something she could "do" when she barked at something or saw another dog. The hand signal is a flat hand against my leg and she walks along side me with her nose on my hand. We've only gotten the right side done so far, but I'll teach her left when that is a definitely learnt. I want her to be able to come to either side of me. I also needed something that wouldn't mean us standing still. A lot of people distract their dogs with a sit or a down, but if she did that everytime she saw a dog we'd never get anywhere ;) So pleased it is starting to work! Just means I have to have a pocket or pouch full of treats lol. It's a start!

Yesterdays food didn't end up being too bad really. I got a very small selection of pick and mix at the cinema and for tea we went to a new, little Mexican place. I got a bbq halloumi burrito, filled with rice and veg and loveliness ;) And a side of spicy chips, which we shared. And when we got home I caught up on my advent calendar ;)
Today's meals has been spot on SW, but I've had a lot of Galaxy Caramel

Back on plan! And a proper SW day with lots of superfree, low syn food, and body magic! I have been very good with exercise this week tho!

The days I didn't update were Wednesday and I did roughly 50mins in the park with both dogs. Not sure on the distance because my app didn't work and we walked quite slowly and had to stop a lot coz Pinta was spazzing out
Thursday was just a short walk each, roughly 10mins and half a mile each. But still, 20mins for me and a mile!
And today was 25mins each and almost 1.2miles each!

Pinta was amazing on her walk today! I played it safe and stuck to the roads, rather than a park. We would have hit the busy time when everyone gets home from work and takes their dogs out to the park!! So we walked up the hill, along the main road, and over on to a nice posh bungalow estate that's usually very quiet. We didn't see any dogs, but we did walk past 3 people. She barked once at the first person, but as soon as she barked, and before I could ask her, she looked back at me and came over to my side. OMG!! And then the next two people we walked past, very closely, I was on the ball and asked her to heel and we walked right past them with no barking. YAY!! She was being so good and walked very well and we did some other training along the way. I would ask her to heel even when there was nothing going on and we did some sits and stays too.
You know, she is such a lovely dog to walk when she's not being a loon!! She very rarely pulls and is so attentive and looks to you for guidance. But, put a dog in and that all goes to sh*t :p I do have hopes of it getting better, I mean her training just from me is coming along very well!

I took Dave to one of the local parks for a run round and up on to the trail and stuff. Was lovely and relaxed. He is SUCH a joy to walk he really is!

We also played hide and seek with plastic cups again. They are far too clever for their own good, I'm going to have to mix that up a bit I think ;) I'm going to do a small training session later with Pinta too.

Anyway, enough about dogs lol. I'm so sorry, you all must be bored to tears!!

I am determined to be on plan today and it is going very well :) x

Some good days there and, as always, very tasty sounding ones!

Pinta seems to be coming along really well. It's remarkable how quickly she's picked up the heel instruction and I can just picture her walking along with her nose in your hand! I'm sure she'll improve with other dogs and in a year's time, you'll look back to now and marvel at the difference.

Playing the waiting game for results is horrendous, isn't it? Fingers crossed we both get good news.

Have you heard anything about your mum yet? Hope she's ok and you're well.

Sounds like you're making good progress with Pinta, a clever doggie :) Can't say the same about Sam he is dumb, loveable though :D
Well done on the food, you're doing better than me. Having really good days will help counteract the bad ones and I'm sure you're doing better than you think.

How was work this weekend? Hope you're not too wiped out after it x x x x

Hey Kelly, how's stuff going?
Shame Pinta is so difficult to walk but sounds like your efforts to teach her obedience are already starting to pay off :)!
Hope you are having a nice run up to xmas! Am homebound tonight and bracing myself for cold weather! X

Hey guys!
Sorry for the radio silence. Our interweb has been a bit, erm, temperamental of late. Very annoying!!
Things are still pretty **** for me. Also having a really big ME symptom flare up, stuff I haven't had to deal with since last year. I mean stuff never goes away, but it's not been this bad for a while. Two days this week I have woken up sweating, shaking, and so dizzy I couldn't walk. Even dizzy lying down!! It's been a good long while since that happened!! Almost didn't make it in to work on Thursday! I've also had a lot of nausea, a LOT of joint pain, and those horrific lightning headaches are back. For most of this week I've had a really heavy headache and very sore ears and these electric shock type pains running through my head to a specific point at the back of my head. That really is starting to get on my nerves now!! My head is very tender too, can't bear to touch it or move. And laughing, holy sh*t that is painful!
The laughing thing got out of control yesterday because we were all at Martin's and I was watching them all play a new mobile/app version of charades. I'm that boring person who wont play charades ;) So I was referee lol. Couldn't breathe for laughing though and I almost threw up from the pain. Totally worth it tho ;)
Avoided drinking yesterday as well coz there's no way I could have coped with alcohol. So coffee and Coke for me. Rock & roll !!

Food this week has been a bit all over the place. Some good meals, although to be fair the meals aren't the issue, it's all the other things *whistles*

I've not made much headway with Pinta this week as I've only walked them once because I've been so ill and I just haven't had the energy to do much training. I did walk them for 30mins each yesterday tho :) Over 2.5miles!
She had been being pretty good in the house and not quite so destructive. But in the last few days she's destroyed a fancy notebook and also chewed the wire and eaten the connector for Mum's brand new, expensive, Dobbie's Christmas tree lights  Martin's going to have a go at fixing them for me. If not I've told Mum I will pay for new ones. Bloody dog!!

Hope everyone is doing ok? All set for Christmas yet?x

Aw Kelly - I'm so sorry you're having a major flare-up. It must be particularly bad to suffer at this time of year when everyone wants you to be jolly etc.

Naughty Pinta, eating the cable (and other things)! I hope she soon gets out of that habit. I have childhood memories of a Labrador puppy eating my doll, my hearing aid and numerous shoes - we also had to replace a steering wheel because she chewed that too!

I'm with you on the meals OK but too many other things. It's a hazard we have to put up with at this time every year, lol!

i probably won't be posting again until the end of the week so I'll wish you a very happy Christmas now, and I hope your symptoms abate and give you some respite.

Hey Patty!
Thank you for your lovely message :)

The dog chewed the steering wheel?! That is impressive I have to say lol! One thing about Pinta is she is great in the car. Plus she has a seatbelt clip that attaches to her harness so there's no way she can reach my steering wheel ;)
I need to stop being so negative about Pinta. I hate that I'm so negative about everything!! She's a lovely dog, is affectionate, good with food, is good to walk (sort of!), is pretty good with Dave and they're bonding more, etc, etc.... The only two things I can really complain about are her issues with dogs and the destructiveness. So really, I shouldn't complain too much. She's a lovely dog, just has a couple of issues.

It is very difficult to be so cheery and pretend everything is ok and I'm having fun. We had some more family drama yesterday too. The plan was I was taking Mum to my Nan's at some point in the afternoon. So was looking forward to my lie-in. Anyway, of course that didn't happen and she woke me up because she needed to get to Nan's asap as she'd had a fall in the house and had spent the night on the floor and I think managed to knock herself out, at least for a while. I won't go in to it, she's fine now, just got a few bruises. But, I'm sure you can imagine the impact of that on Mum, and me. I don't even have anything to do with my bloody family :p Lol! But really, all is ok.

Anyway, I'm going to attempt to go get some help if this bloody headache will give me some peace!

Hope you have a lovely Christmas Patty and I will see you on the other side :) xx
