I will also let you know how im getting in the Cambridge forum!!

Good luck everyone!!

Lou

Hi Nicola, don't worry too much, my first 3lb loss on this challenge occurred after a weekend away with my hubby eating normally, I just got straight back on SS as soon as I got back

Hi Lou, and welcome, good luck with your journey, I was the same and really looking forward to starting it, I even felt quite excited, and it hasn't disappointed. I love it.

Christmas is such an incentive to lose weight while at the same time the hardest time of the year because of all the socialising. It's just a balance I think, when you have a party or social event, enjoy it without going mad and try and make sensible decisions if possible, but at ALL other times keep on the SS

we will do it! :D

Hey Dawn

I am looking forward to it!
I know i havent got anything planned until new year now and that is the only night i will be going out the rest of the time i will be with my daughter playing with her toys ( well i might just be me playing with her toys haha)
I intend to stick to this 100% only i can do this no one else can so its up to me!!

Will keep you updated on my progress!

Well went for my wi this am and I have gained a pound! but I have eaten this week and had totm and ate out on sat night!!! so a pound isnt too much of a suprise!!
So total loss for me so far is 9lb.

Onwards and downwards this week!

Good luck for wi's today and tomorrow peeps!

This is going to get confusing ...what with NooNoos and Lou's!!!...
Funny though NooNoo1966....joined minimins on my birthday!

Anyway off to get some more water......have to make up for this am...didnt drink before wi!!

xx

Hi Lou

sounds as though you were on a losing battle from the start this week, don't worry though, I'm sure you'll do well this week, after all you did have a marvellous week last week!

Oh well 1lb aint so bad, its bound to be food weight on not gained fat. Noo Noo is my nickname from my husband so not a very imaginative user name when you look at some people's on here! think I will wear light clothes for my WI in the morning! Been drinkin gallons today to try and get things moving and seem to be spending more time in the loo than out of it!

But what are you going to do for christmas? I have been on a diet for about two weeks now. I have been already a litte successful and I would really like to keep on losing weight during christmas time. But I really don't know how-there are all these family dinners, baking cookies and so on. So what do you do at least not to gain weight again?

that is the thing I have battled with each time i lose weight, I then put it on again and some!
My life seems to be one continual diet! I have reached a point in my life that my youngest has just started school and I promised myself some "me" time and that I would join a gym - I used to go before I had the kids and enjoyed swimming and aerobics - hate weights etc - so I am hoping to do that soon. Christmas is a nightmare which is why i want to lose some beforehand and I am certainly not dieting over Christmas! I know my trigger foods and what makes me gain weight so am hoping to exercise some control and not go too mad! I will prob SS in Jan to lose my xmas excess and then see what I want to do for the last chunk, i.e. healthy diet & excercise or the eating plans on Cambridge x

can I join, I have restarted CD today, I am going to do 790 for 3 days, then ss from Thurs. I hoping to drop a dress size for chrimbo.:)

Hi Karina and welcome

I haven't given a great deal to what I'm going to do over the christmas period Sam, I think it depends on what I've lost to how strict I'll be with myself, I'm hoping to have moved up from SS by then anyway. Over Xmas and New Year I can easily put on 7 - 14lbs I usually go mad. I'm hoping I can be 'sensible' yet enjoy the socialising so whenever I'm not socialising I will be very good and when I am socialising just to make conscious decisions about what to eat and not gorge on chocolates etc. IF I do fail miserably I won't beat myself up I'll just go straight back to SS on the 2nd January.

everybody will probably deal with it differently and there may be some people that can virtually carry on with the diet throughout.

again it probably depends on what stage of weightloss different people are at

Morning all - just got back from my WI - another 1 lb down - I am pleased as I have had 2 halloween parties, a firework party and the inlaws have been down so I can give myself a pat on the back for being controlled around food and not eating everything in sight! A few clear weeks socially so am hoping its full steam ahead!!! Hope you are all having a good day so far x

Well done Nicola, that's brilliant after having such a socially hectic week. Keep up the good work this week, is your next WI next Tuesday?

yes tuesday mornings straight from my kids school drop, good day as it keeps me in check over the weekend! when is yours? Just made myself a hot flavoured water as its freezing today!!

mine's Thursday morning.

I haven't tried the flavoured water, is it nice? I've bought myself some cans of Coke Zero to have as an occasional treat, it's just a break from water all the time!

yes its nice, I like the citrus one. It lasts for ages and you only need a tiny bit if you want a hot mug. I don't use it all the time just to break the boredom of the water! a bit of a coke junky and my favourite is pepsi max and the vanilla coke that you used to be able to get but not any more. I know the Coke zero is a better option coz of the lack of citric acid and is a life saver but not for me after about 4pm as the caffeine keeps me up all night!

Probably you are right and everybody deals differently with the diet during christmas time. Unfortunately I don't think that I am able to keep on a strict diet during this time. But I really hope that I am able to eat at least smaller portions of food, as I don't think that I am going to say "no" to a tasty christmas cookie although I really should... :(

Enjoy Christmas Sam and just make as many 'sensible' choices as you can and get yourself on track in the New Year. I don't know how people manage to stay strict over Christmas to be honest, I guess they are very strong will powered. I'm going to 'do my best'

So am I. Hopefully I won't gain to much weight again.:sigh: And I really hope that I am able to say no.
I am in another thread discussing about weight watchers. I haven't got so many information so far, but I am working on that. Maybe it is even possible to follow kind of diet quite strictly. At least it seems like this, becaue you are able to eat everything.

Hello, Christmas is a nigtgmare for me too, that is why I want to be really good between now and then so I can sit back and enjoy myself and not beat myself up when I get on the scales after the festivities. My husband is no help as he is a "foodie" and we both enjoy good food. I have tried every diet under the sun and I personally think weightwatchers is a good diet to follow which is basically a calorie controlled one and maybe good to do when closer to goal. Its good to get you used to eating "normally" again - something I struggle with! Cambridge is great for quicker results - I have been back on Cambridge (this time round!) since April/May. I took about 6 weeks off in the summer as I couldn't get my head round it when the kids were off, away in Devon for a week, husbands 40th etc etc and I actually only put on 2lbs which was a reall achievement for me. Hoping to try and keep some control during Christmas too so fingers crossed!
