The hamper is a great idea!!
If my bro doesn't pick owt I may make him one!! Thanks!!

No worries :) its a nice home made touch too and makes it personal :)

ooh yeah hamper is a good one, might do that for OH's parents and maybe even my own :)

I also like the thread its making me think about what I want to get my loved ones for xmas and get inspired by others ideas as for me gifts are a part of christmas. I'm also nosey and like to see what others ideas are.
The thread does what it says on the tin so to speak, if it was a what do you like most about christmas or what are you most like about christmas sort of thread my answers would have been focussed differently.

I am SO festive at the minute and am loving buying pressies. So far I've got/am planning to get.

Mum-Rod Stewart autobiography, Donny and Marie Osmond CD (I'm taking her to see them in Jan for her 50th so thought the cd would be good), a personalised calendar filled with pics of our family holiday and a voucher for the local beauty studio. Will probably buy her some smellies too! She's all sorted!

Sister (17)-One Direction Calendar, One Direction annual and Little Mix-Ready to Fly book

Sister (12)-Miley Cyrus-Can't be Tamed piano book (I love this present as it's something that she has nothing even simillar to) and will get her a few DVD's

Still not sure of my dad, stepdad, dad's girlfriend, gran and grandad and my 2 best friends (1 male, 1 female). Males are SO effing hard to buy for. I'm sort of on a budget this year as I've no full time work lined up eek!

My daughter is also on a budget & today she decided to make crackers for the people she wants to get a pressie but can't afford, she is going to buy token gifts to go in the crackers.

Sad really that focus is on money and not family together or whatever...

Last year was the last Christmas as a family we spent together, this year will be different for us. What we used to do was just me, OH, DS & DD would spend Christmas day together, we never invited anyone round & made sure people knew they could come & visit. However, now DS & DD have both moved out it will be different for us, they now have their own family, so this year DS will visit, we are all going out for a walk in the morning & will come back for pressies & spend the day together DD has invited us round for tea.

Ok here's mine:

OH- goalie gloves, ticket to see man united play at old Trafford and holly willoughby calendar - brought

Sister and her OH- new slow cooker and some posh place mats - (she asked for them both so that was easy) - brought

Mum and dad- not a clue yet.

Nan and gramps- will make a hamper with hand made goodies and bottle of nice wine and few bits in.

OH parents- his mum I brought clarins face stuff
His dad I brought appletons rum - brought

Best friend 1: we're r doing just home made bits for each other so will be doing cookies cakes etc.

Best friend 2: some nice smellies maybe by dove or simple and home made stuff.

When my FIL was alive we used to buy him a 'hamper' which was brill all through the year I'd pick up bits whenever I saw them, things which can't be bought in Sainsbury's, Asda, Morrisons, he loved it.

************ PRESSIE UPDATE***********
'Grandson' now has a dinosaur cake tin for Christmas & I'm thinking of buying him a dinosaur apron (complete with his name on), that will then complete his pressies. Me & DD have been out this morning, food & Christmassie shopping, so much fun:D

I don't recall seeing anywhere anyone asking "how much will you be spending on people at xmas", I think it's a lovely thread and I personally struggle every year with different ideas for people. This thread has given not just me but others ideas they may not have thought of and not always at a tremendous cost ie home made crackers etc and its a personal touch too.

Just for the record - I started mine today lol got some chocolate stocking fillers and hubby a massive toblerone :D

I am stuck for ideas for my kids this year as they are at funny ages I think the 11 and then 13 year old anyway...too old for toys and too young for what they want ha ha! The 20 year old hasnt said what she wants yet but am sure she will have ideas! Trouble is she leaves it too near the time when I've already got what she doesn't want!
I'd like to get my sister and her bf who she's moving in with this weekend an actifry but thats quite expensive and I need to see if they have got the room for it too. My mum and her hubby are a lot better off than us and I find that quite hard but was thinking maybe tickets to a gig or show.
Not sure what to get hubby but have wondered about sorting xbox live out for him and the boys but not sure what this entails really!
Other people we just get token gifts really and all thus will depend on what moneys available and at the moment thats not a lot!
I would like the new kindle though if anyones asking ;) oh and theatre tickets always go down well with me too!

You can buy x box live yearly subscriptions in a box from game or game station or hmv I do it for my hubby every year :) xx

Obv not a Christmas pressie but saw this on a friends pinterest....a veggie 'snack' tree for parties haha! Maybe this is what we should all be tucking in to this year instead of the chocs.

Imagine taking one of these to a taster night. Wicked!!!

Cousins 2 kiddies - pjs each & selection box

My hubby does his family

He's has mum dad & sis and me & dd to buy for he has budgeted £300

I've shopped around and managed to get bargains so far so hopefully will afford some nice extras for people !! :)

Ooh I'm feeling all festive reading this (some fab ideas!) and it's inspired me to start making my list!

OH - trip to Paris (christmas and birthday combined and got bargain via lastminute.com - his bday is 28 jan and we're going on 25th)

Mum - tickets to see Will Young in Cabaret

Dad - headphones

Grannie - framed photo taken of us a few weeks ago

Nan - watch

OH's Mum & step dad - Cast iron casserole (wish I could afford Le Creuset - maybe TK Maxx will come through for me on this one!)

OH's Dad & step mum - cognac for dad and maybe some unusual oil/vinegar from Vom Fass (amazing shop in Bluewater - check it out!)

OH's little sister - Paperchase notebook for Uni and some make up

Think they're my major ones. I'm lucky that I work with duty free so I've got a little stash of perfume etc I've got in staff sales so that will sort aunties and uncle's but luckily I've got a fairly small family.

Feeling quite organised now! Looking forward to going and getting it all at Bluewater in a few weeks with mum - it's a bit of a festive tradition and I love it :D
