A quick update - Am now very much back on the diet wagon having had an unexpected encounter with the same nurse as before (I had an appointment about something else and I wasn't expecting it to be with her). The upshot of it is that she weighed me (13 stone 9lbs and) measured my waist (107 cm) and gave me a proper telling off for having lost so little weight since she saw me last.
She strongly suggested that a fortnightly weigh-in and measure might get me to focus on losing it and has set me a target (4lbs and 3cm for the first 2 weeks).
