my bf was made redundant and this week was his last week of "paid work" and OMG hes just been offered another job already for ALOT more money than his last job he is soooooooo chuffed he wanted this job so much not just cos of the money cos he would actually love the work he would be doing :D:D:D sorry i know its so off topic but im sooooooooooooo happy for him :D:D:D:D

Fantastic news, i am also a believer in fate and they dealt you a fabulous hand honey. This will also make you B/F a lot happier too with hopefully a bit of redundancy in his pocket too.

he doesnt get redundancy pay cos he wasnt at his old job long enough, weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee im so chuffed

yes very cool he will be working for a company called arqiva as their head exchange guy, if you know what exchange is.... i dont know too much about it lol hes the geek not me :) its to do with emails and their servers google arqiva :)

thanks irene :D and oh ur kinda the bossman then lol :p me and the bf still cant believe it, hes 21 and gonna be earning 30k minimum plus milage and on call pay i mean OMG :eek: and he thinks he is really gonna love this job too he was so upset when he lost his other one bless him

I'm not the boss of the people as such; people are leveraged to me as and when I need them. So responsibility for the project being delivered is mine, but the work is farmed out to specialists which I manage for the time they are assigned to me.

Well, spend it on gadgets and not takeaways ;) I was in a similar position a few years ago; I got laid off from a job after nine years, luckily walked straight into this one (negotiated a month off, for a break lol) which paid me more than the old one.

The mileage *is* a bonus, I bought a car when I took this job on and averaged out the mileage allowance has paid for all the fuel used, my insurance, tax, tyres, and *the car itself*. I've basically got a free car, apart from servicing (which I do myself), MOT's and I got the garage to fix the brakes one time, because I sheared a nut off and couldn't be bothered to sort it out...

Live on Teesside, but the job is mainly over West. I lived over there separate from my family for a while, and piled loads of pounds on. Nothing to do of an evening but eat takeaways and watch TV/play computer games...
 
yup thats what matts old job was like.. not the job hes just left but the 1 before that, 12 hour shifts sometimes with no phone calls andnothing to do, i used to come to work with him as it was just him there and there was a chippy and a kebab van 2 mins away.... need i say more lol
