Couch to 5k?

You can do it :) I used to hate running and never do any. Then one day I just started. At first I ran just three minutes, then I slowly built it up and built it up, til I could run over an hour, and a couple of years ago I ran a 10K road race. Unfortunately I now have bad knees following an accident and some surgery so don't run much anymore, only the Race for Life 5k every year, but it really is doable, and feels so good when you cover that distance :)

Hi eddiesmum,

I've been thinking about doing the couch 2 5km thing for ages! Although I am very unfit at the mo and really overweight, I have always loved the idea of jogging..I love being outside and generally just do walking as my exercise.

I think when I have lost a stone, I may start to give it a go. I don't really know why I am waiting, I suppose I might feel a bit ridiculous running around as I am! But I will def try it...also need to get a good sports bra in the meantime!

Are you going to give it a go? It'd be good to know someone else is just starting out too!

Hi Gaily!

Glad theres someone else out there whos a bit embarrassed by the idea! Where I live is built up residential area and so it'd mean running in perfect view of the public! I'm sort've ready to begin - just have to wait until pay-day as I too need a good sports bra hehe dont want black eyes! :-O!! :)
Totally ready for it though I'm ready to get fit & tone up & dont enjoy indoor activity I like pushing myself & love the fresh air.
Lets start it together! Or i'll start it soon & hopefully give you the push to start it, too :)

Thanks everyone else for replying - will defo look into the exercise thread thankyou very much xxxxx
