Crisps VS fruit & yog

So - was thinking today whilst munching on my fruit topped with lf yog what is actually better for us?

Say a packet of baked crisps (something like skips, quavers, french fries) 100 cals max yeah ..... but for my LF Yog & apple its 150cals .....

Fat content im not too sure on but surely you'd think the LF Yog & fruit would be the better option to have with your lunch rather than crisps ..... am i right??????

I for one couldnt go back to having crisps for lunch - this was my biggest downfall before losing weight as id have a sandwich, crisp and a piece of chocolate and then the binge of crisps would start - so i am avoiding them - i guess its more of a psychological thing being that i cant eat them with my lunch but now im onto maintainence i hope im not over doing it by having LF Yog & fruit every day with my lunch .... aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh am i over thinking it all?!!!!

Yeah hun i think the reason why fruit and yogurt is better coz it has more good calories whereas crisps have artifical flavours etc which dont really fill you. Crisps are ok sometimes but like you crisps can be my downfall and they tend to lead to fizzy drinks and chocolate so healthy snacks keep hunger away longer and even thou sometimes healthy food has more calories they are not empty they actually contribute to your long term health unlike crisps. :) Ive been researching all stuff like this so im ready for maintainance im overflowing with knowledge. hope your feeling good this time round on maintainance. xxx

Ah thanks anne-marie! :D Its just i was thinking if i was counting calories surely a packet of crisps VS an apple & LF Yog would win but i do know what you mean - and apple chopped up with LF yog over the top sure does fill me up whereas crisp do 'nothing' :giggle:

basically yes but remember if you have a craving wait a while and if you still have it have some of it its better than goin on a mad binge. Little bits of bad tings are important in a balanced diet. haha i know mad.

Hmm, good question. But you know what? the crisps may have less calories, but it's nutrients fail in comparison to that in yoghurt and especially fruit. Besides, it keeps me fuller for longer :)

Never cut anything out, all in moderation, have them as a treat maybe once a week or so. The crisps will have a lot of saturated fat, much better to stick with the healthy yogurt and fruit.

Yeah - i will have them on mondays and i have had them the past 2 mondays which are my 'treat' day but other that that day i wont or cant have them - i'd litterally just binge on them otherwise. Like i said, i think its all in my head! The fact if i have them with my lunch i have to have more more and more! Where as if i have them on a 'treat' day i am fine ..... messed up i know! :giggle:
