    Hi

Much conflicting info about - can anyone confirm once and for all if curry powder added to soups affects ketosis/water retention please?

I cannot confirm it. I never deviated for fear of breaking my stride-though the little jar called me often. Hence, its swift trip into the bin.

There was a chap here, Mikey, who did put it in his soups. He said he never had any problem with it affecting him. BUt he has been gone from the board for awhile....so I don;t know the end result.

I never took the risk myself as I felt it 1.) defeated the purpose and 2.) did not want to derail myself by the next week adding something different, and so on.

I'm sure someone may be around with the definitive answer for ya!

In any event - welcome to MM and good luck with your diet! :)

Thanks, but bored with Tabasco, need a different taste. Been using curry powder, which is my only change from the normal routine, and haven't lost anything for 5 days, which is very unusual for me.

Other than the psychological/behavioural effects, which I understand but do not apply to me, I can't see that some spices could have such an effect, but will obviously now stop adding it and see what happens.

    It's not gourmet food!

I think we all get a bit bored with the packs. I too use Tabasco and haven't added anything else except sweeteners in my hot chocolate pack in the evening. It was BLs suggestion and makes a big difference.
The way I got my head round it was when I decided the packs are only vehicles to ensure we get all the necessary vitamins, minerals:devilangel: etc to function properly - they are not trying to be food- also, they aren't disgusting are they?
Keep it up. It's all in your head.
    Good luck.
