Day 3


I joined last year but didn't do so well with my diet but now feel ready to give it a real go.

I'm looking at loosing 5 stone and I'm on day 3 of the Cambridge diet, sole source. I comfort eat and also eat a lot of sugar and refined carbs for the quick high they give me, and then feel worse and crave more and them.

I've been reading here again lately and everyone looks so supportive and all of the success stories are so encouraging. I could really do with some of that at the moment!

I put on all my weight after the end of a bad marriage 6 years ago and I guess I ate to both comfort myself and to try to feel invisible. I'm still struggling with trying to keep invisible, having another relationship scares the life out of me after the last one. But I want to tackle the weight and deal with the emotional side of things as and when they arise.

Although being overweight has it advantages, you don't get much male attention, it also has its drawbacks. I hate not being able to wear nice clothes and I don't care as much as I used to about my appearance, I think it won't make much difference if I buy or do this or this because I'm overweight.

I've gained confidence back in lots of areas of my life since my divorce but my appearance is an area that I still really lack in confidence in. When I was younger I cared much more and felt nice about myself. I'd like to do and feel that way again.
