Something to do with dominant genes?

It must be a recessive trait, meaning that a child has to inherit a copy of the recessive allele from both parents for them to be able to do it

Apparently it needs alleles from both, however sometimes there are exceptions to the rule, a bit like the gene for being a redhead being a 'maverick' gene and can occur in any family at any time. Once knew a little boy with Nigerian parents who was born with a shock of Ginger hair!
