Yes I was aware of the lily pollen thing and cats. I do have a cat but he is an indoor geriatric cat. Doesn't even come downstairs let alone get as far as the back door to go out. Don't think its poisonous to dogs though? Not that she has ever really been bothered about my flowers, now my tomatoe plants on the other hand......
I keep all my bins at the far end of the garden away from the house. If you look on the link posted further up I am sure I read something about cockroaches and the compost bins.

Yes we definitely have cockroaches in the UK! Husband would hate pulling out the oven/fridge etc in some houses to see them scurrying away!
Worms are great for compost, you can buy a bag of them, will go find the site, I also use Garota to help the heap along (not that I have checked it for months!)
