I don't see it as a day off, but at the weekends I allow myself a few more calories from unrefined carbs. So probably go over by a couple of hundred cals.

I'm currently eating whole earth peanut butter on home made bread (100% wholemeal flour, no sugar)... yum!!!

The rest of the week I'm generally zero wheat products.

In my experience if you go too nuts and allow a "day off" you spend the whole week trying to lose the water weight from replenishing your glycogen levels and upping your blood sugar means you can run the risk of a treat turning into a full blown binge. That said most people find a treat day helps them stay motivated.

Good luck with whatever you decide. Xxx

thank you ... that was really helpful
starting from next week I'll allow my self one "as healthy as it can be" meal at a restaurant since summer vacation has started and I think I will not be able to escape going to restaurants with friends at least once a week. with that said, I'll try my best not to go too crazy with the extra calories :)

I have one day a week where I have a treat, like a decent amount of chocolate or cake, but I try to keep my calories for that day to a maintenance level. When I started I had no off plan days at all for the first four months, but I did have a lot to lose. :)

I haven't had any off plan days yet and don't really plan to-I don't eat my exercise calories though so I've always got those spare if I need them.

I don't really, sometimes I eat naughty things (like I have the shopping delivered tomorrow from Sainsbury's and I've got a packet of doughnuts coming which I'll be having 2 of (providing they're in stock as the shopping is picked, obv) but I don't tend to go over daily, nor do I have treats every day.

I do occasionally have shop bought sandwiches (I'm a fulltime carer and sometimes I just don't have the time or energy to cook a meal when it's been a bad day) but factor them all in and only go over by say 100 at the most on rare occaisons (but then there is 1200 between what MFP says my BMR is and what it actually is worked out with the calculation)
