Doctors Signature Requirements Cambridge Diet

Hey guys,

So I went round to the doctors and was advised to make an appointment for next Thursday - apparently the doctor has taken the booklet on advise for doctors away to give it a good read - I am hoping that when I go back he will have educated himself and be able to sign the flipping form! Spoke to CDC she has said she will see me Thursday evening once its signed to stock up on my shakes so fingers crossed all will be resolved. I have enough to carry on until then so I am just going to plod along with it! Shall keep updating on progress in the meantime and put the doctor to the back of my mind for now!

Hows everyone doing today??

Good luck with starting!

I took mine to an apt with me, gave it to my gp, she signed and stamped it and rolled her eyes at me, as if to say, you have been dieting for years and failed, why will this work

That was not very supportive but you can show her this time! You are off to a good start with 6lbs down, well done:happy096:

Thanks Mini.. that's my GP all over unfortunately .

heres a question for the cdc's among us, i did cd about 6 maybe 7yrs ago got dr approval and the cdc i had back then had stopped doing it when i tried to go back with her about 4yrs ago so i went with a different cdc who said as i had had dr approval before with a different cdc i didnt need to get it again, now that cdc has stopped doing it and i've got to find a new cdc as i am restarting, do you think i'll have to get dr approval again?

i have a female doctor she was ok signing it she just said 'good luck if you can stick to it, its a very hard programme to follow' ive moved doctors now but would of liked to go back and show her if i managed to get to target weight that i did actually stick to it! (ive only moved a couple of villages away)

Hi can anyone help me? My sister and I were really keen to do this together but she has had breast cancer, all treatment finished 3yrs ago but she is on tamoxifen.....she says it mentions somewhere tamoxifen specifically being a contra indication to doing the diet....she has never been told anything......is it that it makes it harder to lose or something??

I would call Cambridges customer services, they are very helpful.

I'm so scared now! I've got an appointment for Tuesday to get my letter signed and stamped and hoping to start that day!!
But when I called my dr to find out what I had to do they just said I had to make appointment with the dr so I'm hoping I don't get charged! But I have been diagnosed with asthma, stopped smoking all in the last 12 months and now hoping to drop the "boredom eating" weight from stopping so really hoping they will be supportive :$

Hi weeyin2b I fee
Just like u I have an appt with my gp on we'd but not sure wether to go or not as I really don't no how supportive he will b x he will prob say u will have to try and lose weight some other way as I have and underactive thyriod (but I have run out of other ways to try x

My GP was great about it. I am not sure how successful she thought I'd be but happily agreed it was worth a try and asked me to go back to let her know how I was getting on. That was nearly a year ago and I admit I haven't been back as I haven't needed to, but she will get a shock when I do! Just give it a try, you don't know what they will say. Mine even waived the charge!

I went and she basically said "why wouldn't I sign it" lol... Very supportive and wished me the best... Took a note of my weight and said she would check next time I was there :)

How great for all u guys to go back and show them u did it! I'm looking forward to going back. I didn't need a letter but if I do this successfully I'm. Making an appointment just to weighed again lol x

I'm really worried now lol, I'm bi-polar and had my 1st consult today they said their own specialist should pass me as I'm on meds and stable, however I'm totally worried my doc won't sign for me. I would be really gutted.

I'm bi-polar too and I had to go and speak to my doc to be signed off but they had no problem doing it as when it would help my illness to lose weight so saw the positive!

Yeah its difficult to get doctors to sign off on it at the best of times for some unknown reason. You may have to go to another doctors. You'll get there though! Good luck and I hope everything owkrs out for you xxxx

Doctors are often judgemental. It definatley should not be that way as it makes us dred going to ask them for anything. Im not sure but I think some superdrugs sometimes have a doctor come in for occasional appointments but im not sure if thats just for the bloood pressure test or not :) xxx
