Down in the dumps today

I've been on my diet now for 5 weeks and the first 4 weeks went well, lost a stone quite steadily over those 4 weeks.

To boost my weight loss I thought I'd try and exercise this last week, so I've done a fitness DVD, got the exercise bike out and have been going for walks on my lunch break. WI today and I've put on 1lb! I've not cheated once on the diet and now I feel so down.

I've tried to do the right thing and its made things worse!

Has anyone else experienced this? Will the weight loss catch up or should I just stop with the exercise (which is how I'm feeling now)?

I know exercise will change my body shape and tone up, but at the moment I'm just concerned with losing the weight! Perhaps when I'm somewhere nearer my target weight I should start?? I don't know :confused:

I agree. If you enjoy the excercies, then def stick with it. It has numerous benefits, of which weightloss is only one. There are many reasons for your 1lb gain (and is that an 'official' gain?) so stick with it and see what happens next week.

As people have said above - 1lb gain could be anything and im sure nowt to do with your plan - Is it a star week maybe?
Keep up the exercise and get your tape measure out cos your bound to start losing inches x

When we exercise our muscles hold onto more water than usual. Make sure you're getting plenty of fluids and that should flush through any retained water.

this happened to me aswell

I was excercing loads i power walked 14 miles in 2 days and in total from my previous weigh in i walked over 20 miles and i never cheated either and i gained 1/5 pound i was gutted

my sw consultant told me that i prob wasnt eating enough now that i was excercising more i needed to eat more

well done on the weight loss so far

Initally when exercising you put weight on, but don't get down as it will come off and notice the difference with a toner bod! Stay positive and focus on SW you will lose :)

Thanks everyone for your support. I will get back to exercising this afternoon!

I am sticking to the plan although that about not eating enough is probably true, even before I was exercising. I really do need to make sure I eat my HEX and use my syns.

Its just weird, because when I use my syns and HEX it doesn't feeli like I'm dieting!
