Any ideas to what to eat when out in restaurants and pubs that arent listed in the book - independent pubs and little restauants etc. What in generally is good - meat, fish, veggie? What to avoid, sauce wise? Potatoes?
Hiya, personally I look for a carvery option, you could look for steak, fish(not battered or breaded) chicken breast? , with veg and new potatoes, jacket potatoes. Veg based sauces. Cheese or creamy sauces are out for me and I avoid chips. If you go for a salad many places will happily leave dressings and croutons off or serve dressing on the side.
Indian- I go for a tandoori oven dish, share the rice and pinch a poppadom .. no more than 20pp at the most.
